Looking for help and advice on bathroom issues

Feb 21, 2007 19:58

I'm the first person to transition at my school. So it's often kind of like pathfinding sometimes. Anyways the current problem im looking for help with is the bathroom issue. Ive gone full time recently, have been on hormones for about 8 months, and almost everyone calls me by my female name these days, or rather a cute little shortened form, except for some people at school, who still call me by my old name. Unfortunately my old male name is still what apears on the rolls at school, so i'm always getting sir'd or mr'd by the teachers. So I've been using the female bathroom, cause ya know I'm a girl, im dressed like a girl, and these big almost size b waterballoons on my chest scream GIRL. Anyways aparently someone doesnt quite like this "opinion" and complained, cause today i was asked to come to the Dean's office. There tough questions and stuff like "well what does the state consider you legally, whats on your birth certificate". Well this is a dificult question being in Tennessee. The state of Tennessee will change driver's lincense however it is to my knowledge the only state that wont change birth certificates regardless of how much surgery or other procedures you've had. So now im looking for advice on how other people dealt with this. It kind of sucks to have to drive to the nearest gass station to use the bathroom, when i pay so much to go to school there.

Crossposted to anywhere people might have advice on this.
