To Mend and Defend, Chapter 1
New story! Inspired by a gift/request by Siadea--the first chapter is a little shorter than we normally do, but hopefully people will like it anyway. :)

Characters/Pairing: Ensemble characters/OCs, plus a surprise protagonist!
Warnings/Notes:This fic is in the 'Sound and Fury' series, but does not actually focus on Soundwave or his crew. Just like 'Sound and Fury', it takes place in the same continuity as 'Giants of the Earth', but is set hundreds of thousands of years earlier, on prewar Cybertron. The character designs, for the most part, are movie-verse with the addition of G1 colors and minor modifications as needed. No warnings for this chapter, unless fluffy cuteness counts. :)
“No no nonono!” The plump little hatchling scowled fiercely, faceplates folding into a unhappy grimace as he kicked and wriggled, batting away the new, finely-jointed digits that his creator was offering for incorporation. “Two pedes not enough--four pedes better! Want to be sharp tear pounce fast! Rrawr!”
