Author's note: Unfortunately new chapters of Sound and Fury and 'Intermezzo' will probably be a bit delayed--Fractal has been really sick, and I'll be transitioning into a new job over the next few weeks. In the meantime, though, here's a new chapter of 'Intermezzo' to tide folks over! @__@;;

Warnings/Notes:Soundwave-centric, this fic is the immediate sequel to 'Crescendo' in the 'Sound and Fury' series. It takes place in the same continuity as 'Giants of the Earth', but is set hundreds of thousands of years earlier, on prewar Cybertron. The character designs, for the most part, are movie-verse with the addition of G1 colors and minor modifications as needed. No warnings this chapter--unless Ratbat being Ratbat requires a warning!
Soundwave shuttered his optics for just a moment behind his visor. He could say this for his existence: it was never, ever boring.
