I understand that Kayne West is a respected and controversial rap artist. But come on, is the demographic of a U2 rock concert the same as Kayne's following? Many befuddled looks surrounded and crept through our party tonight. I'm not sure that Omaha in general was ready for his coming, although I'm sure he has a devout following.
U2 on the other hand, did indeed rock. The ability to put graphics on everything nowadays, including mega-doorway beaded curtains hanging all over their stage is astounding. Paul McCartney's set was one big psychedelic display as well. Of course with U2 the music is fantastic and although I object to actors and singers pushing their personal causes at the award shows, they can do so at their own shows all they want. Thankfully Bono's one.org campaign is pretty easy to swallow. Bono's unique voice of course makes the U2 sound that has been embedded into the very fiber of my generation.
We went early, having been warned there was searching going on. Luckily if you had no bags you just got whisked through, making a rather long wait for the show, but ahhh, with Kayne to keep us entertained, who needs to keep track of the time Egress of the Qwest center was normal, but it aways seems way to hard to get out of there. We were in the wrong lane and had to drive past the airport and west on Sorenson to get back home as traffic was obviously backed up forever on Cuming.
