Oh that's right, I went there.
Nathan's that is. For all your body art needs, head to Nathan's on Topanga and Sherman Way. As a birthday present to myself I got a tattoo. It is an arm band of my own design and it turned out great. It kinda stung for some parts, but I took it like a champ. Besides, I had the whole gang to witness it. Sister, sister's friend, parents, and Nikki all watched me get inked. I am now one of them. Everyone watching has already been tattooed at least once.
Not too long ago I hated the idea of 'violating' my skin with a tattoo, but there is something about it. The fact that I designed it, it will serve as a reminder of good times years from now, and it looks damn sexy. Yeah, it's workin; it's as if the blank canvas of my body now has decoration.
Anyway, now for some happenings.
Friday morning I worked for an hour and a half and got a full day's pay. Needless to say, I was generous with my tattoo artist's tip. From work I returned home to be lazy for a few hours before getting showered and heading over to Nathan's to get inked. After the ceremonial black ink had been sufficiently stabbed into my arm, Nikki and I visited Tim at work. Finally, Nikki believes I have friends as she and Tim met for the first time during that visit. After Tim, I returned to my place with Nikki. My folks made cheese fondue and prepared a spread of meats and cheeses; quite euro of us, actually. Nikki and I sat down with wine cooler and beer in hand, respectively, and relaxed for the remainder of the night. I was worn out from a long day and Nikki was worn out from a longer day (she is the shift leader at the shopping concierge at a mall; that is, the mall, the day after Thanksgiving). We cuddled and kissed and so on and so on, watched movies, fell asleep on the couch. I drove her home and kissed her goodnight on her porch. All in all, an awesome night.
Saturday was busy as hell. I was allowed to sleep in to about 9:30 (yes, that counts as sleeping in). Chores abound, holiday decorating rituals proceeded, and my dad prepared a feast for my family, the Thanksgiving dinner for the immediate family. I cleaned the kitchen three separate times today trying to keep up with the dishes and trash generated from the daily goings on. Once dinner was finished I made a to go plate for Nikki, showered and got pretty, then drove dinner over to her at work. She was nearing the end of her shift and was as happy to see me as I was to see her. I followed her around and watched her work for the last 45 minutes of her night before a kiss and hug and a few more kisses.
Today a harsh reality sets in: I have a massive computer science assignment due on Monday that I haven't started on, the true college way. My desire to stay true to my red-blooded, college student ways tells me that since class starts at 7:50 Monday night, work will begin on the assignment approximately three hours before the deadline. It will be half-assed, unorganized, and most likely slightly past due, the real American way. I don't do it because I have to, I do it because I love America. Procrastinators we stand.
That's enough updateification-ly-full-less-ness for now.
Until next time, I'm Jacques Cousteau for National Geographic Explorer.
