So, Lockheed's current thing is "Embrace Diversity". Not a bad plan. They've been giving out these postcards on occasion (each one has been given to my cubemate and not me--maybe I'm diverse enough). These postcards have a bunch of text bubbles on them, expressing some sort of diversity 'issue'. There have been ones with racial biases on them (sushi in the cafeteria vs fish from home), religious differences, etc.
This most recent one, though, is laughable, and not because the conversation is funny, unlike some of the others.
"I plan to wear my Ravens jersey every casual Friday during football season."
"This classic polo knit shirt is my idea of comfort."
"Do you wear that Lockheed Martin program shirt thinking it will get you a better raise or something?"
"Of course not! I'm proud of my contribution to the program."
"Well, I believe supporting our home team is good for morale."
"I couldn't agree with you more."
Since when has what *shirt* you wear on a casual Friday ever been ANYONE's idea of diversity?
(As an aside, it's self-assessment time again. I really hate doing these.)
