CHAT - Women's Social Networking Gathering

Feb 01, 2009 23:23

I'm starting up a social and networking gathering for women. It was thought of out of Femmeconne, and it's taken me quite a while to get my act together.

It is all now coming together and here are the details:

CHAT (which totally needs an acronym but I haven't discovered the right one yet - suggestions welcome).

To be held on the first Wednesday evening of the month, in rotating locations. There's no cost involved, it's just an opportunity to bring women from all different backgrounds together as a group.

Current schedule:

Wednesday 4th February
Globe Restaurant (Parmelia Hilton) - Perth City
6:30pm - 9pm (approx)

Wednesday 4th March
San Churro's - Fremantle
6:30pm - 9pm (approx)
Hosted by maharetr as I'll be in Melbs.

Wednesday 1st April
Location TBD but Mt Lawley area.
6:30pm - 9pm

My vision:

An opportunity for women to get together and connect socially, and having the chance just to chat and share their stories. One of my aims is that through a gentle process, it will be a group that builds community and wellbeing, support and awareness of women in general and what it means to be a woman in Australia, in the world.

So despite the short notice, I wanted to invite you all to come and help me launch this thing :)

The aim is for this to be accessible and child friendly, and any advice on this is always welcome. There has been mention in the lead up while I've been plotting and hitting people up for their opinions, that something on the weekends might be more parent friendly - I'm going to stick with hosting a weekday evening, but am totally up for supporting someone running a monthly/bi-monthly weekend gathering in partnership with this - I'm just not able to do both :)

RSVP's are appreciated but not required.
