Wasff and Driving....

Dec 07, 2008 17:28

Wasff meeting was 2 hrs flat. Yay!!

There's a lot going on for the organisation that will be interesting to see what happens.

I also had a driving lesson. prk has the patience of a saint. It's been ages since I had my last lesson. This was the first time we went out on a road with me in a manual. So first traffic, first gear changes with traffic, merging, first attempts at 3rd and 4th gear, traffic light cruising, etc....

Wow....

I actually drove home from the streets around PRK's house, which included William St, crossing the railway and crossing Albany hwy onto the Kenwick link!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I survived, so did everyone else, and no trauma to me or person teaching me. Yay.

I feel like I'm gaining some competence, and I'm feeling comfortable enough to try doing a lesson with a couple of other people now if time permits.

Currently my biggest problem is trying not to look at the gear stick as I change gears - aka, drifting out of my lane, towards curbs, oncoming traffic etc.....

I also pulled into my driveway and straightened the car.

I might just get the hang of this yet.... *hopes*

Much love, adoration and appreciation to prk for his awesome teaching ability and time and love and patience in doing so.

swancon, amazing friends, goals, achievements, driving, wasff
