I had a gorgeous night tonight :)
I conquered inertia and went out to
girliejones' election party tonight, and was utterly delighted to see unexpectedly
cricket_k there - which is noteworthy particularly as I was wearing the necklace that was her gift to me ages ago that I love so very much and I could finally show her how right she was about how perfect it was :)
Also got to cuddle and catch up with
asimmum,
kathrynlinge and
punkrocker1991 - it was just awesome, I don't get to see any of them as much as I'd like. (Oh for a time turner...)
I'm really quite saddened by the probable election result. Especially Buswell keeping his seat (yes, jokes ensue...) I mean really? His total lack of professional conduct, and his apparent lack of respect for women - wtf?
On top of that - the sheer amount of work involved if the government changes over the next few weeks? *shudders* We have to be one of the few areas of government that are affected by more work in the time of caretaker conventions and just after :/
Forrestfield voters had a choice of, a green, a labour, a liberal, a christian democrat or a family first candidate. Three of those don't think I or three quarters of those I know and love have any value in society. There is something WRONG with that. Maybe I need to find a nice left wing party to support... *grumbles* Yes, with all my 'spare' time.
But yes, the news was better shared than learned over the interwebs bit by bit. Awesome night even considering the probable election result *holds out provisional hope*.
