ELECTION TIME!
We are short four Council members, and in an effort to keep the campaigning and elections from dragging on for too long, (Marriage Planet will begin Saturday, February 5th, and we want a full Council by then) here's how it's going to work:
-Players will OOCly throw their characters into the race here, in this post.
-Said nominations will be ICly handwaved - over the next five days (until 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday, February 1st) you can ICly campaign, to try and convince the ship that you are awesome and should be in power. It is also highly encouraged to make OOC notes here, in this post, of what your character is doing to campaign so it's all in one spot and easy to find, even if they're doing things IC as well.
-Afterwards, there will be a poll on the main comm, open for three days (until 11:59 PM EST on Friday, February 4th), where characters will ICly vote for their choices.
-The top four vote-getters for Council will be put, well, on the Council. Ties will be broken with second repeat polls.
Duties: The Council's job is to be in charge of day-to-day life. If it doesn't involve fighting the Ohm (or any other threats that need fighting), you make the rules. You can pass laws and appoint Department Heads if any step down or need to be replaced. Power is shared evenly among the members of the Council, although the Chairman helps ensure that things run smoothly and is in charge of making the final decision.
Current members:
Matt Olsen (Chairman)
Elfangor
Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch
Kang
Superman
Positions on the Council will be very demanding both ICly and OOCly. Even if your character would be the Best Councilperson Evar ICly, you need to be able to handle the additional time commitment OOCly.
If you don't feel you can handle the responsibility or time commitment, please, please do not throw your character in the mix just because you think it would be OOC for them not to run. We cannot stress this enough.
Go forth, meatlings, and nominate your characters! As always, if you have any questions, just ask!
