Organizational meetings would be quite helpful, just to touch base with everyone else and what we're all working on. We could also discuss the latest missions or developments and organize what tech needs upgrading and what could be more useful.

Thank you, Mei Ling, I'll note all of this. I also wanted to make sure we understood everyone's specialties, to let us assign tasks more efficiently.

I don't think my engineering skills are up to par with what you're looking for, but I am interested in learning what I can.

That isn't a problem. I and several others would be willing to teach interested people. We can't rely on having more engineers awaken, so it makes sense to offer training to others who have the inclination.

If you'd like, you can come by the lab and we'll figure out what you'd like to learn.

Where is the lab located?

I've attached a small map.

Let me know if you have further trouble.

Is it possible to work in two departments? The Science Department sounds like a fun place too, and it's not like I can't multitask, tee hee hee.

Do you need some credentials?

That's fine. We already have a few crew members in both departments. We'll just be sure to avoid overburdening you when you have two departments to work for.

I'm not looking for a resumé, just tell me generally what sort of work you do.

Like I'd need a resume! We don't need those in the army, silly!

Lash. Ex-Black Hole and One-time-only-Orange Star Commanding Officer.

I've worked all my life in the Black Hole labs creating weapons of mass destruction. Black Bombs, Neotanks, one time Sturm asked me to build a two thousand...or was that three thousand foot tall? ...whatever. Death Ray. We've done human cloning, and I've lead some armies to war. You name it, I can probably try to build it.

Good enough for you?

Exceptional, Lash. We may need some of those devices later on.

You're welcome to acquaint yourself with the Special Weapons facility at any time. We'll have someone give you the rundown.

I'd be happy to help, though I might be busy with the science team.

That's fine. We have a few part-time members working in multiple departments at once.

Just visit Special Weapons if you'd like to familiarize yourself with the staff and facilities.

Meeting's probably a really good idea right about now; depending on how many people we gain from this batch, we may need to work the department into smaller groups to better focus.

For instance, I could take a few people and work with them to teach them about some of the ship repair Stacy taught me, you could teach a few about the electrics work you do, and Allen could teach a number of things about Robotics (and probably overshadow everything I could possibly ever teach 'em).

Thank you, Static. We'll see about organizing the subgroups if that's necessary. I have two or three prospective new members so far---this next group was large, wasn't it?

Who's currently working with you on repairs?

Help on repairs?

I am intrigued by this idea and wish to subscribe to the newsletter.

I'm sorry! I thought the others implied to me that you already had a crew.

I'll call for a team to be sent to you, or I can offer my time if they won't.
