Psychological evaluations?

Are you fucking serious? What do you think you're going to accomplish doing that?

And while we're at it, I have a big problem with this "mandatory" stuff. It sounds like we're being forced to do this, and I didn't even know you existed until now.

I've been on board since this whole thing started. Half the crap that's gone on could've been prevented if we had had those things earlier.

I doubt it would make a difference. There's this thing called lying.

There's also this thing called being able to tell when someone is lying.

Enlighten me.

Why do I need to enlighten you? It's a pretty obvious thing. If, for instance, people could lie convincingly 100% of the time there wouldn't be any actual skill involved in poker.

There are such things as pathological liars. I don't know about you, but where I'm from, liars don't always have ways of giving themselves away. Some of them have more to fear if they don't like convincingly.

That doesn't mean that everyone who might cause problems on board can do it though.

But its still possible. From what I hear, Stacy isn't too selective on who she saves. For someone who's new, that's kinda scary.

Which is why the attempt is being made to actually try to catch people like that before they try something.

It may or may not help...my thing is that it might actually prevent some people we need. Even helpful people can be a little off.

Yes, I am serious.

If anything, we can make sure that someone doesn't fly off the handle suddenly because of a problem they experienced here or before they would brought here. Believe me, I'm pretty sure a lot of what has happened could have been avoided if we knew exactly.

And you may have a problem with it, but the fact is this: we need this. As I said, a lot of problems could have been avoided if these were implemented earlier

I have no clue about what happened in your past, since, you know, new on the ship and whatever. What I know is that I'm looking around and am beginning to distrust the so-called government body considering they just get to post messages about what's mandatory and what isn't. I mean, I don't even KNOW you people and I'm supposed to let you evaluate MY ass? Yeah, not happening.

If you want to, say, maybe gain the trust of some of these newer people, you could start by telling us what the hell has gone on here that makes you implement this in the first place.

Say 'please'.

...

The whole reason I'm bitching in the first place is because I'm being told to submit to this shit. THEY can say please.

Well, there's also the bit where, uh. You're a new kid.

Guys like him and folks like me have been around a hell of a lot longer.

Take our word for it, it's needed. If you really wanna know, ask nicely.
