Billy was on one of his daily walks around the place when he spotted a strange sight. It was Kaya, but she was...different. She had been in thought for a long time, hadn't she?
He waved as he passed, giving her the option to ignore him. From the look on her face, he thought she might have more pressing matters to attend to at the moment.
In this state, Kaya definitely knew it was Billy, and the last thing she was going to do was ignore him. What he would be feeling now, though, is the heightened state of awareness that Kaya was still feeling. Luckily, he wouldn't feel the time slow like she did, so all the better.
"Billy." She said this with a smile, again, her eyes much bluer than he had likely ever seen. "What are you up to?"
So she did want to talk. Billy turned to face her, unable to avoid noticing the shine to her eyes. That merited investigation.
"I was walking back home after a shift, sorting out my thoughts. The same as usual. But you haven't been following a routine, have you? Something's new about you today."
"A routine?" Kaya looked amused. "No, I guess you could say I haven't, not really. I needed to go back to a place that I'd been before, awhile back when Sheeana was still here. And I think...things are a lot clearer to me now. I definitely feel enlightened."
Kaya held out her arms. "I could show you if you want. I'll go slowly too: it almost overwhelmed me, the first time I visited the Sietch."
Ah, the Sietch. Billy had heard her speak of it before, but it had been a long time. Something had changed in Kaya while she was there, he could see it.
"I'm glad you're feeling better about everything. But are you sure it'd be safe? I'm not one of you."
Kaya laughed. It was a light, sweet sound, and even to her ears, it almost sounded foreign, she didn't remember ever laughing quite like it before. In truth? It reminded her a little of her teacher."
"One of us? What are you talking about? We've traveled each other's mindscape before Billy: if there's anyone that gets and understands me and, most importantly, would be safe, its you."
"I don't." She said that plainly, looking at him inquisitively.
"I'm not taking you into the Sietch Billy. I trust and love you, but I would never do that. That is something that was shared with my teacher and Tess...well, if she had followed us that day. It;s special, and I can't let you in there anymore than I can wear your Ranger suit."
She held up her hands. "I mean, I want you to see what I'm seeing."
Kaya would have never done anything she knew would potentially harm or make Billy feel uncomfortable, but she knew a first time was daunting. She had remembered the first time ever she had dreamscaped, aided by Roxie. This, however, would be different.
When they laid hands it was like they had entered into a web around them. She felt the gleam of the fibers all around him, and vicariously, so did Billy. But here, they could see memories of each other: pieces, rapid and hard to make out, but recollections of sighs and smells of their life, cascading with new smells, new things yet discovered.
And now, she was sure Billy might feel something else: his chakras align, strengthened at each point in his body. The Spice, she knew made you aware of each different core energy in them.
Billy was becoming aware all right. He breathed deeply, taking it all in. Kaya's energy wasn't new to him, that felt safe enough. What felt new was his own. It had been so long since he'd felt anything like it, and it threw him off balance.
Luckily for him, the process stabilized him. He became intimately aware of himself, of all he'd hidden and hurt, and even things he had no name for surfaced. How it could be described, he didn't know. But he didn't care. He felt secure for the first time in a while.
Kaya did not need to sit and meditate for this: in fact, that had been what she had been doing the last few hours. But looking at her Billy could see the vibrationary field moving around her, how specks of colors seemed to be gathering, how she was feeling completely grounded now.
She remembered this feeling with him: hadn't they done something similar before, when Renne had still been there, when they were all able to gather that feeling of connection about them? but it seemed much more expansive now, perhaps because she had done this before.
What your mind allows you to see, it will show you. It might be different for us because we already have that connection. What it does is open your mind, heighten your senses. If someone were to throw something at you, right now, you would have caught it bare handed easily.
Billy felt it: he was in contact with himself. The storm was him and he was the storm, and it was under his control. His emotions could be calmed, his resolve was strengthened.
Really? Can you be in this state for long?
Passively, he wondered if the strange eye color would've transferred to him.
You have to be careful not to let yourself be overtaken. Humans are fooled by things that are beyond their comprehension. The Spice can take people not prepared for it. But you and I...we've walked this path before.
And for a moment, Kaya and Billy were illuminated, made up of fiery stars, blue and yellow, making a humming, melodious sound only the two of them could hear.
And lo, Billy, your eyes were getting a little bluer.
He waved as he passed, giving her the option to ignore him. From the look on her face, he thought she might have more pressing matters to attend to at the moment.

"I'm not a Bene Gesserit. Wouldn't your teachers want me kept out?"

"So you're stretching my mind, then? I don't entirely understand what you're going through, but I suppose that's the point."

"The choice is yours of course," she said to him. "If you don't want to, we won't. But I remembered how this was for me before: and it helped."

"I trust you," whispered Billy, and he tentatively laid his hand over hers. "Show me---just promise me I'll return to normal reasonably quickly."

It shows you...some truth.
