Time for a Talk [Closed to Command Staff]

Kirk had done some poking around on his own initiative, after Cybil informed him about the precinct. He'd found it easily enough - it just took some looking around the city. He'd been a bit staggered by all of it. It simply confirmed how huge Stacy was and how little of it they'd really explored. All the more reason to get moving quickly. Cybil had ( Read more... )

The Chief, after the floor has been opened to reports, raises an issue that's been bothering him.

"It's come to my attention that we have no one in charge of overall team training," says the Chief. "I'd like to volunteer to oversee that, as it's important that the teams not only be able to function as units but also as a larger group."

"In addition, I'd like to offer my post as head of Security to Leon Kennedy in order to have more time to devote to one job instead of dividing myself between two. He's been very capable so far and I would not hesitate to trust him with it." The Chief'd be glad to see the job go to an actual cop, someone who knows a bit more about dealing with things like this than he does. "I can keep up work in the security team but I think that Leon is better suited to it."

"Fine by me on both accounts," Nathan readily agreed. He'd seen how Leon had been around the place, and he seemed solid and dependable.

"I'll happily agree to it, Master Chief," Picard replied. He understood the need behind it, and while Leon was no Worf, he hardly wanted someone to think that the captain of the ship was practicing some kind of interdimensional nepotism.

"Congratulations, Mister Kennedy," the captain said warmly, "I believe you've been promoted."

"Apparently so." He was still rather surprised, but he wasn't about to turn the job down. He'd be doing it regardless anyway.

"Thank you, sir. Chief." Leon gave a nod towards the Master Chief.

"I won't let you guys down."
