Animo and Hydroponics! (My hand is a cow!)meat_mooksSeptember 5 2011, 01:30:21 UTC
Picture, if you will, a tranquil morning in Hydroponics. The light is dawning, animals are making their way across the plains in harmony--you could set a chanting song about the circle of life to it.
And then that peace and harmony is shattered by the cackling of an insane old man. Whose head is attached to a gorilla--please don't ask.
"Such magnificent creatures!" Animo laughed. "With these specimens at my disposal, not even Ben 10,000 can stop me!"
Laughing more, he wandered through Hydroponics, holding an item in his hand. Oh, it was easy enough to break into the closest building and steal what he needed, but he wondered just how it was supposed to work completely.
Well, at least he got these so-called Gaia Memories away from the boy. That'll learn him to stand up to him!
On one hand, Shoutarou was mad at Philip - he knew something like this would happen with keeping the extra Memories around - it was just asking for trouble.
On the other hand, someone has hurt his partner.
Some time after Animo has settled into Hydroponics, there is a man heading towards his area of operations with an extremely determined look on his face.
The fight at the agency was such a blur, and of course, Hoshi couldn't fight as well as she could have with just one hand. But, limits be damned for once - she made sure to struggle as much as possible against Animo.
So, then, when she finally regained consciousness, she winced and closed her eyes immediately after opening them before shaking her head to get the feeling out of her head. She opened her eyes again, glancing around, wondering briefly why things were upside down for a minute before looking around once more to get an idea of where she was now. The beyblader tried to move her arms before realizing that she had been tied up. And was currently upside down and probably disarmed in the process.
"Damn it!" she cursed, trying to kick against the tree as much as possible in a way to try to free herself.
Cackling. In Hydroponics. That was not a good thing. Living in Azeroth had taught the shaman to be wary, and this time was no different. Even Snowspot the mistsaber had sensed something wrong, and was not a lazy lump, but Alastirra waved him back with a hand.
No need to risk a friend, after all.
It took a few seconds for Alastirra to shift into Ghost Wolf, and slowly, she crept towards the source of the demented noises, simply trying to blend in...
Hoshi turned her head to Animo, her eyes narrowing in anger at him. "You don't know what kind of person Shoutarou is if you think he'll be defeated easily."
She still tried to kick against the tree to try to break her restraints, all the while watching out for her wrist in the process.
The detective makes no reply as he continues walking. He reaches in his vest, pulling out a different Gaia Memory than usual, clicking the button - SKULL! It's slotted into his belt as he removes his hat.
"Henshin..." he says, throwing the belt's lever to the side as his body is wrapped in black and silver armor. The hat goes back on his head, and a punch is thrown at whichever of the three raptor-esque creatures arrives first.
The shaman kept an eye on the gorilla, wary. Slinking down on her belly, she tried to close in on the tree where Hoshi hung like a ripe fruit, trying to ascertain just what it was that held her captive. Chains? Ropes?
Alastirra was hoping it was ropes. One good Flame Shock, and then--well, she might be squashed wolf when she caught Hoshi, then, but it was probably better than hanging upside down like a bat.
She hoped the strangely armored man could hold his own until then.
Animo ignored Hoshi trying to break free of her chains. He was certain that they were tight enough and that there was absolutely no way she could transform. Why no, he hadn't learned anything at all from fighting Ben Tennyson all these years.
As Shoutarou took down one of the leenkants, a sleek, Rajkan night-runner sniffed out Alastirra and pounced.
"Ah, it seems we have another guest," Animo noticed.
But, was Animo expecting Hoshi to have another trick up her sleeve? She had stopped struggling momentarily and closed her eyes once more.
Seraphiel, can you hear me? Come to Hydroponics. I need your help, she said as her holy beast took off. From where he was at, he transformed into his archangel form and came barging into the area.
"Seraphiel, help Shoutarou out," she said as her holy beast nodded and went to work hitting the leenkants with his cross and his razor-sharp feathers to boot.
As far as Hoshi was concerned, she was still trying her best to get out of the chains. A little help, anyone?
Shou was giving one leenkant an elbow when Seraphiel stepped in. He looks up at the beast for a moment, then nods. "Thanks, big guy."
Pulling out the Skull Magnum, Shoutarou pops off a few shots at Hoshi's chains - not accurate enough to free her, but they'll weaken them. Then his attention turns to Animo. "I've had about enough of your damn monkey business! Fight me like a man!"
The attack by the night-runner knocked Alastirra out of her wolf form, and the Draenei tumbled to the ground, lashing out with her hooves to kick the beast off of her.
"Akil! Kurii! I need you, my friends! Come to me!" Soft clouds of bluish-white energy coalesced into a pair of translucent spirit wolves--who were more solid than it seemed, as the duo launched themselves at the alien critter.
Alastirra scrambled to her hooves, summoning four totems with a gesture, casting a Flame Shock at where the man--Shoutarou?-- had shot at the chains binding Hoshi.
With any luck, that would melt them and free the girl.
Seraphiel nodded to Shoutarou, continuing what he was doing while the Rider worked on freeing his mistress.
Through both of Shoutarou's and Alastirra's efforts to get her down, it worked surprisingly well. One last struggle and Hoshi was free, breaking her fall with her hand and spinning out of it to sit on the ground normally. Ooh, okay... Where was everything located again in here? She rubbed her head, groaning a little bit in the process.
It'd take some time, but Hoshi was determined to show Animo that she was not meant to be trifled with, especially when it came to those she loved.
"No idea, but he's giving science a bad name." Hank says as he grows up from beside Beast Boy. He uses his helmet's waves to repel any animals that come close to him. "Though I am interested in how he's able to control these. It would come in handy..." Hank turns some dials on his helmet.
"Ah, so that's how. I think I can find a way to disrupt his control, but I'll need some time."
The night-runner was thrown by Alastirra's attack, landing near Animo. As Shoutarou took care of the leenkants, Animo shouted, "No! Leenkant, to me!"
One of the leenkants came over by Animo alongside the night-runner as he pulled out the secret weapon he'd stolen from Philip.
GENE!
Where there had once been a preserved head on a gorilla's body was...well, a really unimpressive dopant. But his powers were a lot more showy, as he waved his recombinator over the leenkant and night-runner, creating a snarling, sleek, fusion of the two species.

"Well, well!" Animo remarked to the waking Hoshi as Shoutarou approached. "It looks like someone's come to your rescue! Too bad he won't last long!"
With yet another maniacal laugh, he unleashed three leenkants after Shou, unaware of Alastirra's presence.

Beastboy came dashing in in cheetah form skidding to a stop. He'd heard the commotion and was hoping to help. He had no idea what he was getting into.
Shifting back to human form he blinked confused at first, "Dude...who's the B-movie baddie asking to be stomped by the one man animal kingdom?"
