Just checking things out.

Hilde wasn't exactly sure what she was doing, but she figured that she needed to get away from that scrap yard of hers for a while. Sure, it was good to be home, but without the colony being there, she didn't have a whole lot to do. She couldn't go out with Duo to salvage anything outside of the ship. There were no mobile suit battles going on and ( Read more... )

"I swear I'm on the moon," came a voice that belonged to a man who'd wandered in here by accident and was unwilling to deconstruct the sensorium-illusion enough to easily find his way back.

He wouldn't have this problem if he had noticed the sensorium was in use when he stepped in it. Like a normal person would have.

"This was OZ's Lunar Base," Hilde said as she noticed another person here. She wasn't sure why others had bothered to come here while it was in use, but she figured that she would at least be polite about things. "So you are on the Moon, or a recreation of it at least."

"Well, that would explain it." He flashed her a casual smile, apologetic and friendly in equal measures. "Sorry to wander into your place like this. I got so far in before I noticed it was in use I couldn't find my way out again."

"It's all right. I'm Hilde Schbieker. I actually was stationed here for a while before I left OZ. I can show you the way out," she said, returning the friendly smile. "This place can be a bit of a maze if you don't know your way around."

"Morgan Knight," he said, offering a hand. "I'm going to assume OZ has nothing to do with the land or the wizard. That seems like a pretty safe bet..."

I apologize for the late tag. My life got to me. goodenuff2kill August 6 2011, 21:37:36 UTC
"It stands for Organization of the Zodiac. They were the special forces of the Alliance Military," she said as she shook his hand. At least he was nicer than the other person who interrupted her. She smiled at him and looked around. "I didn't program any other people here, so it's rather quiet."

It's okay! I didn't go anywhere. :) morgan_knight August 7 2011, 03:39:33 UTC
"That's not a bad thing," he said. "Maybe a bit lonely, but in the middle of this ship and all its people sometimes it's good to be alone sometimes. At least until some idiot Akashic blunders in to annoy you," he added with a wink.

"I have a friend here, but this is actually the place where we met. I was once an OZ soldier, but he made me realize something and I left," she said, looking around. It was amazing how much her life changed in such a short amount of time.

"You know, I don't mean this in any negative way, but solely from my own perceptions, you don't seem like someone who has a military background. What did you do?"

If it was something like programming or technology, he could buy that!

"I was a mobile suit pilot," she said, looking slightly confused. She knew that females were a bit of a rarity in the military, but she was a pretty good pilot. Or at least, she thought she was. She knew that she wouldn't have been able to stand up to a Gundam, but then again, not many could.

"Mobile suit?" He took a moment to mentall translate that. "Oh, you mean a large fighting robot?"

That made sense, though she still looked, well, downright young for it. Maybe this was the kind of world that made soldiers out of people who ought to be going through their adolescence without the fate of a country riding on their shoulders...

She nodded. "It was how I met Duo," she said. If she hadn't been an OZ pilot, she wouldn't have met Duo or realized just what was going on in OZ. She was glad that she had met him.

"Well, at least where I'm from, piloting a massive robot at a comparatively young age is an impressive feat!" Or would be if it was possible, but, details. Compare it to a fighter jet. Anyway, the point is, it's a compliment.

"Just indulging in some nostalgia, then?"

She nodded. "It hasn't been that long since things ended here. I just wasn't sure how to use these systems. I was experimenting."

She smiled at him and looked around. "Next time I'll see about putting people in here."

"Shouldn't be too hard, if you just think about it!" He tapped his temple with a finger. "Not sure I like the mechanism, but you can't beat it for convenience."
