Life aboard Stacy isn't necessarily bad, she supposes. There are less threats here-- so far-- than in her home world. She can't find witches despite searching for them. And most everyone is friendly, kind, strong; she's yet to meet anyone less than pleasant to deal with. So she feels a lot more hopeful than she might have at home. Circumstances are ( Read more... )

Ah, mealtimes. Mami has since gotten used to the bland, tasteless slop provided for them, but that didn't necessarily mean she liked it. Normally she'd take it to the Sensoriums, most likely indulging in her not-so-secret sweet tooth, but not today. With the recent influx of newbies, Mami thought it would be a good idea to be social for once, maybe keep an eye out for any familiar faces she might have missed...

Seeing none, she decided to head towards a familiar face she had already run into. Setting her tray down on the table, she takes a seat directly across from Homura.

"Having any trouble settling in?"

Even clumsy pink-haired girls with bad self-esteem need to eat, and since Madoka had already been trailing after Mami from afar, she decided to load up a tray herself. It's with a great deal of hesitation, though, that she approaches the table that Mami chose; she can see Homura sitting there, too. Not knowing how things now stood between the two rivals, Madoka's nervous about stepping into what may become an unpleasant situation.

And there's Sayaka, following after Madoka and Mami. Though she really didn't like the thought of eating the slop as, well, slop, it was pretty much the only option they really had at the moment, since Mami wanted to actually talk to people around here.

Though, when she went to sit down, well... Sayaka wasn't really happy about that, and frowned as she followed the other two girls.

"No. The ship being alive is the only part of it that troubles me." Homura speaks to Mami quietly, not quite glad to see her but not unhappy either.

But then Madoka approaches and Homura's expression very nearly softens. "How long did it take you to get used to that." She asks Mami, eyes on Madoka. She notices when Sayaka sits, nods as acknowledgement at the other girl before turning her attention back to her friend.

"I don't think I'm entirely used to it yet," Mami admits with a sigh. "I can't help but wonder who thought it was a good idea to make the beds part of this living being, along with the rest of the ship."

Really, she couldn't complain too much. That unsettling feeling of something pulsing under her was enough to distract her from her recurring nightmares some nights. So it had its good points. Didn't make it less creepy, though.

"But we've been managing. Right?" She said, turning towards the two newcomers and smiling.

The smile is encouraging; Mami pretty much always smiles, Madoka knows, but it seems....well, it's a nice thing to see with Homura so close. Are things finally all right between the two?

Madoka is going to trust that they are. Nodding and returning the smile, she carefully eases down next to Homura. (Dimly, it occurs to her that Sayaka wouldn't, and no one should have to sit alone.) "U-Uh huh, we have!"

Sayaka blinked, looking over at Mami and Madoka, frowning a bit. "Well, I've heard that some people are staying at some places in the city. Maybe it'd be a good idea to check it out and see if there's any place you'd rather stay besides where we are."

Yeah, ignoring Homura right now was probably going to be best idea. No need to try fighting while they were trying to eat horrible horrible tasting food.

She breathes a sigh when Madoka sits next to her. She's alive, she's well, she's here. It's absolutely impossible to watch her at all times, so seeing her fine after such a period sets her at a kind of ease.

"I've yet to explore the city. What is it like?" says Homura.

"Like no city I've ever seen," Mami said. "It's definitely bigger than Mitakihara, and some of the architecture is quite strange." Not that she was expecting otherwise. There were hundreds of crew members awake, tens of thousands still asleep in the pods... so it's only natural that vastly different cultures would be represented somehow.

Her ever-present smile faded a bit, though, when she glanced at Sayaka and took note of her frown. "Is something wrong, Miki-san?"

This is Madoka, eating her meatship sludge and saying nothing. Please don't let there be a fight....

Yes. Yes. There very much was something wrong. How the heck could Mami be acting like they were friends with Homura. After what she had let happen.

But right now, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to say that. "No. I'm fine."

There's obvious hostility in the air-- at least from Sayaka. Going off of how they interacted after Homura's podpop... Homura makes an assumption.

"Miki is wondering why I'm here. Is that correct?"

Aaah, right. She still hasn't told Sayaka about their alliance.

"I know this may come as a surprise, Miki-san, but Akemi-san and I have decided to set aside our conflict, and work together." And indeed, it probably was a great surprise to the other girl. Mami didn't tell her the reason why; that might lead to Sayaka asking about the details of their alliance, and Homura should be the one to explain that.

This is greeted by nothing beyond a surprised and happy squeak from Madoka; let her calm down and remember how to use her words again.

Sayaka just stared over at Mami for quite a few moments as her brains seemed to completely shut down. How the hell could Mami even think of doing that after what Akemi did.

"How!? How could you even think about doing that! She's the whole reason that thing with that witch nearly happened to you in the first place!"

She had to say nearly, since well... Mami wasn't dead here. "From my point in time, she showed up right after it killed you! She let you die so she could get the grief seed!"
