Red Snout is hanging around the Obs Deck to watch the newcomers, preening and looking smug with himself. All humans, to whom he is obviously superior. One day soon he will challenge their leader and he, Red Snout, will be in charge. Yes. He snorts, side stepping and tilting his head as new arrivals file past. Foolish, weak humans.

"Red Snout!" another raptor appears. Sharp Tongue makes a beeline for her tribemate. She seems more than slightly annoyed, but that's the way Sharp Tongue usually is.

Red Snout blinks as someone calls his name and turns his head at the sound of a familiar voice.

"Sharp Tongue? Sharp Tongue! What are you doing here?" He might be a little relieved, but he's not going to show it.

There are quite a few other raptors that Sharp Tongue would rather have with her, given the choice, but at least Red Snout isn't particularly bothersome to her. He's not a threat to her status as potential shaman, and she's fairly sure she's smarter than him. Then again, Sharp's never been kind with her opinions of anyone.

"Great Scravis knows, Red Snout," she replies with an irritated snort. "My things are not with me and it has washed away my markings. Why are you here?"

Sharp Tongue is very annoyed by the loss of her ritual paint, Narrow Face herself had done it and Sharp Tongue had been well on her way to making those lines last two months.

"Great Scravis knows." He intones, repeating the phrase before tilting his head, scratching his snout, which he seems to have managed to paint. Otherwise, he is without markings. He does have his rifle, ammunition, and trophies though. "Did you check the big room full of things? Your things may be there. That is where I found mine. And I found a bit of paint, but I couldn't reach properly to do my other markings..."

"There is a room full of things?" she asks, tilting her head slightly. "I have not heard of this. I will look there, but I must know where it is."

She gives a short exhale. "Then I will do your markings properly if you do the same for me. But I must have paint. I would prefer to find mine."

"Yes! It's huge! I will show it to you later." He bobs his head in affirmative. "There are many things, so it may take some time."

Oh, that's good! He feels, well, naked without his markings. "Good, good. Then we must find a way to get in charge of the humans. They have an old one, with no hair, in charge."

"It is a waste of time to lead humans, I have things I must do. What good does it do? When I have my things I will find the edge of their hunting territory and the way back to ours."

Sharp Tongue would prefer to have as little to do with these humans as possible.

"But it is strange that they allow an old one to lead them."

"There is no edge! We are contained within this...thing. It flys through the stars and smells as if it is food, but wrong somehow." He snorts, pacing back and forth no win agitation. Humans are annoying, but this place is even more annoying.

"I do not understand! There are larger, younger ones but they do not challenge him. Humans are strange."

"Things do not fly through the stars," replies Sharp Tongue. "Except for, sometimes, other stars."

That is ridiculous, Red Snout, what gave you that idea? Sharp Tongue will certainly not be swayed by such preposterous ideas.

"Maybe he is like the shaman. Older and wiser. They cannot afford to challenge him or they will lose his wisdom. This is wrong, though. Males are not shamans and shamans are never Chieftain."

"Look out the viewport, Sharp Tongue! See if what I tell you is true or not!" He jabs a claw towards Obs Deck windows, snarling in annoyance.

"I had thought that, but then I remembered the same thing. Like I said, humans are strange."

Sharp Tongue looks, then reorients her whole body to look directly out the view port. She takes a few careful, stalking steps toward it and watches the stars for a moment to be certain.

"Then this flies through the stars," she confirms reluctantly. "It is doubtless a man-thing. It smells like a fresh carcass, but there is no blood. It speaks in your head like..." she just breaks the sentence off. There is no comparison. She looks back at Red Snout, tearing her gaze away from the space outside.

"Have you talked to these pinkskins about it? What do they know?"

"I told you!" Yeah, he's just a bit smug about it. It's not often he gets one over on his clutch-sister, after all. He moves to stand next to her, ducking his head as he looks towards the humans again.

"We have been kidnapped. Taken because we have been 'Chosen' for something or other. That is all I have been able to determine."

Sharp Tongue doesn't much like being bested, so she drops that subject. Red Snout is right, they appear to be flying through the stars. She'll leave it at that.

"Whoever did this choosing is very stupid," she asserts. "We are the only velociraptors. Why so many humans? They are weak, and slow, and not very bright." It's more her wondering aloud than her expecting to get a useful answer out of Red Snout.

Perhaps, she thinks privately, it's because they have thumbs.

"That's what I was thinking! Why have so many humans when you could have velociraptors! Though, the raptors might not get along very well if they are all from different tribes." Great Scravis, Red Snout said something to do with common sense. Alert the press!

Sharp Tongue stares at him. "That is the most sensible thing I have ever heard you say, Red Snout."

"Perhaps there are more from our tribe here. We just have not met them yet."

This is a comforting idea, especially because Sharp Tongue would rather not run into any strange raptors. They're worse than humans. They'd probably want to fight, and though Sharp Tongue can hold her own she's not the best there is at that.

"Either way, I do not care who put us here or what they want. I am very important and need to be at home."
