The Return of Time

Jun 11, 2011 09:46

As the Clock was destroyed, all of the stolen time rushed back to it's original owners, causing them to rapidly age back to normal. But as the crew would soon notice, it seemed that the stolen time didn't always go back to exactly the right place...

[[ooc: Time to get back to normal guys! This is basically a case of very rapid ageing - they'll ( Read more... )

A kid!Zetta scampered merrily down a corridor, some mischief or another in mind --

Midbounce, the change hit.

Mana power roared outwards in a surge of purple energy, building from "significant" to "strongest in the cosmos" in one massive rush that seemed like it would threaten existence itself...

Then abruptly, with a sharp snap, the demonic form condensed into a book. The mana power cut off as the book spun down to the floor, landing face-down.

It did not move again.

Speaking of one of the people Lash was looking for...or well in this situation, a demon. A book demon. A demon who did not have fingers and toes anymore and...well you get the picture.

The problem right now is the book did not look like it was moving at all.

"Zetta?" If you listened closely there was maybe a tiny bit of concern in her voice. Just a bit.

Nothing.

Then again, that was just one word, right?

For a few seconds she wondered if he was tricking her. Waiting for just the right moment to jump at her once Lash tried to push him just so Zetta could laugh at her carelessness. That was the six year old child talking, the way of thinking sill fresh in her mind. Then it was quickly followed with a sickening revelation that if her mind had hurt and nearly broke from all the memories being shoved into them at once, imagine what it had done to a demon who had over 30,000 years to catch up on. Powerful Overlord or not, that was a lot of strain for anyone to relive through.

And if that wasn't harsh enough, he had lost his body along the way. Honestly Lash wasn't sure if she'd be able to keep her sanity if it had happened to her. Was it caring or silent admiration?Zetta didn't have legs and hands to feel numb over. Maybe that meant it affected him everywhere as a book. Without thinking about it anymore, and perhaps caring a lot more than she left on, Lash was on the ground, pushing the tomb to see if she could turn it over herself, or ( ... )

Once she started poking him, let alone yelling in his 'ear', the Tome -- which was, actually, pretty heavy -- lurched upright under its own power, the face on its front looking rather unhappy.

"...guess they fixed it. How long have I been out...?"

Please wait a minute, as there was now a surprised wunderkind on the floor, caused by the fact the book she had been pushing was suddenly floating in the air leaving her with nothing but the ground itself.

"Ooof!" she said ungracefully. A few seconds later and she shook her head and pushed herself upright. "Uuuuh, dunno how long," she admitted, dusting herself off. "I've been wandering around everywhere trying to find everyone else who had been affected." But mostly a big red book. Not that she'd tell him.

"You all right?" Both in the general and the specific, since she had just taken a tumble, and also had just re-aged.

"Apart from feeling like my mind was going to get ripped into a small while ago, yeah." She even had her coat back on and the ranger equipment. "What...about you?" It was hard picking the right words to ask him. "You were out cold." What would have happened if no one had found him?

"...Yeah." And about that, he had nothing much more to say. He remembered nothing from the moment he'd re-aged till the moment he had heard her yelling.

"I'm Zetta! The most badass freaking Overlord in the cosmos!" he finally said. "It'll take a lot more than that to take ME out!"

Well at least he sorta seemed to be in good spirits? Or at very least his old self. She should push these worrying thoughts away for later.

"Yeah...I figured that's what was going to happen," she snickered. "Glad to know you're alright." And she said that without an ounce of sarcasm.

"Hyaaa ha ha ha ha! An Overlord and a Wunderkind aren't going to be taken out so easily!"

....Oh hey. He just remembered exactly why he'd taken to using her title like that. Aaand cue the awkward.

"Tee hee hee! Moewth That's right!" She crossed her arms, not even noticing the awkward that was probably going to sneak up on her soon enough.

"So, uh."

Huh. How exactly did one go about finding out exactly what Lash remembered and her opinion on it?

"Some stuff sure did happen, didn't it."

Yeah, real great, Zetta.

"Well yeah some stuff happened. Don't you remember it?" Unless he meant--wait. Oh. Oh. It was harder to gauge his reaction when he was a giant book.

"You mean like, car rides and robot battles and giant slingshots with fireballs?" And all that had happened in between? Suddenly her arms relaxed and she started to twiddle her thumbs instead. "Uuuuh possibly?"

What kind of answer was that?

"W-what about you? You probably had a lot of memories coming back to you...considering." Surely stuff like that was mostly insignificant compared to 30,000 years coming back.

Zetta had always been a 'live in the now' kind of guy.

"Yeah, like all of that."

He thought about it a moment, looked Lash over, then smiled.

"It was all pretty fun."

She was caught off guard a bit, and had to smile at that despite herself. It was true.

"Yeah. It really was." Speaking of living in the moment. "So...what now?" Not just considering that in particular, but everything. "Everything's back to normal, I guess." Including the fact he was back to being a giant book again.
