The effects of the Melting Clock had been of great concern to the crew for some time now - but thanks to the efforts of those who had negotiated with the Time Dragons, a solution was now in sight

The crew would find Billy preparing for the biggest performance of their lives. A major slip-up here could potentially cost them lives, so the pressure was undoubtedly on. He'd taken to setting up a large pitcher of water with enough glasses for everyone nearby, immediately taking one for himself and dipping a cloth in it. Maybe he wouldn't be so overheated if he wasn't wearing a bulky black vest over a black costume, but that was what he was told to wear. Black for backstage, right

Hell yes they could. Sakura had never worn more layers in her life than what she currently had on, and she could see no reason behind half of it other than allergies to sunlight, exposure, temperature, or movement.
Also, quite possibly sanity. "Billy's right," she said with a smile, adjusting the ridiculous headcovering one last time. "We'll get through this. Besides, it's kind of fun, right?"
Aftran was sure she could do this. She had her lines memorized, she'd figured out how to pronounce all of those weird old-timey words, and Paris's... character, she supposed, wasn't that hard to get into. It was nothing like imitating a host at all, she'd found, but it wasn't difficult, either.
"I don't know about that," she replied, "but you're right that he's right. We've practiced enough that we should have no trouble."
Underneath her costume, Tenaya was wearing a special cooldown suit she'd picked up on XaXing--backup to keep from overheating since she still hadn't gotten the waterproofing on her body right.
And it wasn't like this was the fate of a bunch of people on the ship, including her friend and one-time husband Zetta. Nothing that would make her sweat if she could.
"Let's get this started," she decided, the picture of professionalism.
"Sure it'll be fun!" Jr. chimed in enthusiastically. "Being too serious about it can be stressful. And even though this is important, having fun'll ensure that we're not too stiff about it."
Jr. was still banking on the actors' enjoyment shining through enough to appease the dragon. Sure, he knew they had to do things right, but he figured that it would happen naturally if they weren't all serious business about getting it perfect.
And then there was Beastboy, he had been sweating like mad so rather then ruin his costume he transformed into a dog. Dogs couldn't sweat.
Unfortunately a dog couldn't act either, but he wasn't thinking clearly. He was just obsessively reading his lines over and over again so worried that the show wasn't going to please the dragon, that it would all be his fault.
Panting like he was in the middle of a heat wave and couldn't cool down the dog that would be actor was getting the full brunt of his stage fright.
Billy knelt next to the little dog, wondering if he was stuck in an animal morph. That would be the worst possible time for this sort of situation, wouldn't it?
The dog looked up and froze for a moment looking guilty before it shifted back into Beastboy who grinned sheepishly and tried too hide his script. "N-nothing, nothing at all, why would anything be wrong? I'm totally ready for this! All my lines right here." He tapped his head unconvincingly.
"You don't sound as though nothing's wrong," Billy said quietly, giving his actor a kind look. "Mistakes aren't going to bring the whole performance crashing down. Remember, he doesn't know exactly how the play is supposed to play out."
Beastboy plastered on a rather unconvincing grin, "I gotcha, fake it till we make it right?" He sprang to his feet carefully and adjusted his outfit. "Tights..." He mumbled reaching around and tugging. "This is why my hero outfit was normal pants." He joked nervously.
"It won't have to be for long," Billy reassured him. "And it could be worse. I wear a spandex-like material every time I fight."
He laughed that off, remembering all the awkwardness that had ensued there. "Right. You only have to do this once, it'll take less than an hour, and then you'll likely never have to perform again."
"Neither was I," Billy said, wiping some of the sweat from his brow. Seriously, why did he consider this director's hat a good idea? It was causing him to overheat.
"I'm terrified, Beastboy. If this doesn't work...Metronome's going to largely blame me. It won't be your fault. But you know this, I know you do. And you have fans out there cheering you on!"
He did, honest. Billy had spotted that over-active alien girl waving a sign at the stage.
Hearing Billy confess feeling about the same way gave Beastboy a leg up on his confidence. It was always easier to be scared together.
"Hey now, if you get in trouble we all do. Back home my team's battle cry was "Titans Together" and that's for the good and the bad." He ran a gloved hand through his hair to smooth it back.
"We're in this together till the final curtain director dude."
