All Hail the Conquering Heroes! [OPEN]

((Takes place several hours after the conclusion of this))

They survived. More than that, it seemed as if they actually won; the Ohm had successfully been driven away from their location. The fight hadn't been easy, which one could easily tell just by looking at the Quarter as it docked in back in Stacy's Hangar ( Read more... )

After seeing General Chacon's message, Faiza grabbed anybody who could be spared and headed straight down to the hanger with a scanner. "It never rains but it pours," she said, shaking her head as they made their way across the hanger to the Quarter.

She stopped as she saw the ship. Saw the people pouring out of it, the walking wounded and the ones who weren't walking. "Allahu akbar," she murmured, drawing in a breath before steadying herself. "Right, then. We all know what to do, yes? All injuries should be sent to the med bay, but prioritize the worst cases. If anybody is dying, call me over and I'll see what I can do."

There was no reason to have her powers if she couldn't keep the crew alive.

((Early medical treatment in this thread. If your character needs immediate medical attention, may not make it to med bay, put Faiza's name in the subject and I'll get straight to it.))

Billy knew very well that it could be worse. Not that it was much of a comfort to him, but hopefully his little nudges of encouragement would help the team members who hopefully weren't too far behind him in arriving at Medical's station.

He'd been sitting in the rear of the Megazord, absorbing the brunt of the blows from behind. They'd find his back made into a mess by all the digging sharp objects, scattered burns, and not so obvious electrical damage waiting for them. His plantsuit clung to him in an odd pattern, indicating a few active first aid sites.

It would be an interesting ride. "...sorry," he said wearily, looking up. "I might've just---handed you quite a challenge." Hard to keep up a normal cadence in this much pain, but he tried.

Well, he was far from that now: the person attending to his wounds at the moment was his very Bonded who, in spite of her very agitated mood, was keeping a straight face. She had actually FELT his aura severely dampened, and had raced from the Media Library with Daja to be here.

And what a situation she had to deal with. Billy's wounds were definitely not small: any part of her that was tired from the last few days seemed to evaporate when she set eyes on the cuts and pieces in him. She sucked her breath and brought out her water pouch, the very one he had gotten her, and started by fishing out the shrapnel with the water first. This would at least make it easier, using the water to located them and wash them out rather than picking at them and causing Billy unnecessary pain.

"What happened?" she asked quietly.

Billy almost collapsed into position, having done what he could to clear the way from her. He bit down on his pained noises as she worked, quietly processing what had happened. That had been their most intense battle in a long time, maybe even ever.

We were ambushed, he thought wearily, not quite having the strength to operate his mouth just then. We were led to believe that we were fighting off a small force of Ohm. The army was far stronger---we were outnumbered, trapped, and just barely pulled out alive.

Kaya winced, feeling his pain as much as it was her own, as she continued removing the pieces in his back. The water was looking murky, and that was OK right now: the major thing was getting all of it out, because once that was done she could start healing with fresh water anyway. But the more she heard, the less she liked it.

"Wasn't there any information regarding the kind of enemies you would be facing?" she asked. "Intel, assistance from the Daligig, something? They can't just throw you into some random mission and expect you to come out ok!"

The intel was received and we were briefed, but it was faulty. We expected to face Shrikes, and we did, but...Firebugs and a Leviathan were also present, along with far more of the other Ohm than we'd been told to anticipate.

He shuddered against her, almost cold in the midst of this pain. It really, really sucked. But it was an improbable victory that they lived, wasn't it?

"I see," Kaya said, and now she dd look concerned, and even a bit angry. What was she going to do, if they got pulled into missions that seemed like a set up in the first place. She didn't like the idea that Billy could come this close to dying because oops, we forgot to mention this very important bit of information.

She finally got the last pieces out, and noticed that his body was shuddering a little. Electic...no, electric wounds, she could feel that strange pulse in him. She closed her eyes and concentrated, pooling the water over his wounds and working on the burns. Thanks to her tribe, burs were child's play. It was the electrical damage she was concerned about.

"I'm sorry that I worried you," he managed to say, trying to still himself for the healing. It finally started to work, taking just the slightest bit of edge out of his voice.

"But they did it. We pulled through as a team."

"Don't apologize!" Kaya barked, looking haughty. "Just let me worry about you when I can! I know you have Ronnae to do that, but I do too, and will when you get hurt!"

She nodded. Thank goodness for that. "Who were your teammates? I'll have a look at them too, unless Fiaza gets to them first."

Billy simply accepted reality as it was from her, too weakened to argue.

"Jamie, Lash, Kate, Andy, and Ron. I don't think any of them were quite this bad...Lash has a headache from the stunt she pulled and Jamie has a wounded arm, and I think something's wrong with Andy. I'd check on them but I don't think I can."

She didn't like talking at Billy like this, when he was weakened, but she DID worry, especially when she could sense his pain. She paused and took a moment to wet a cloth and put it over his forehead before continuing to works on his back.

"Those are all of your rangers, aren't they? If you were to say off the top of your head, who do you think I should go and help after I take care of you?"

"Andy. I think he was on he verge of collapsing, but all of us could...yeah. Jamie's arm and shoulder...the others need help."

Billy was quietly waiting for some of this to fade, the cool touch almost adequate to stop the burning sensation in his head. The helmet had saved him from head trauma, thank goodness.

Prognosis? he asked wearily, fighting the sleepiness he felt then.

"So most of your rangers," Kaya said, looking concerned. She was going to have to talk to Rein about possible making sure that there was a way to minimize the damage the rangers took, but the question there would be how she would be able to make the suits that durable. maybe Billy would tell her later.

You'll be fine in a few hours. Just lay on your stomach for awhile, or you won't give your back time to heal. It'll be tender for a bit, but otherwise you'll be fine. Lucky for you, burns are a specialty of mine, especially this early.

Oh, they were more durable than before. The problem was that their bodies were being squished into spaces where they would not fit no matter what they wore.

Billy nodded quietly, laying there to gather up his strength. "Go tend to the others. Don't worry, I'll be moving to a resting place soon enough."

"You move slowly, and don't you overexert yourself!" Kaya warned. "Stop over to the medical bay too, just so they can make sure that you're healing over well. And you can tell that fusspot AI Doctor, by the way, that I can heal just as well as he can!"

She shook her head, then bent over and kissed Billy on top of his head. "Rest soon, ok?"

That much he could do, Billy had to concede, now fully aware of his (improved) condition. He stood carefully, reaching out to squeeze Kaya's hand before he left her.

"I promise I will. I'll see you when your workload clears up."
