Mission Start cityship November 23 2010, 02:19:19 UTC
||Preparations complete,|| Stacy says eventually. ||Entering planet's orbit. Beginning deployment.||

The doors to the Obs Deck close, and the whole room lurches slightly as the deck detaches from Stacy's main body, and after a moment, they're all weightless. They can see the planet through the window now, the brown landscape and orange clouds drawing ever closer.

It takes only a matter of minutes to reach the surface, and there's a slightly stronger lurch as the Obs Deck touches down, gravity returning to the room.

One of the massive walls opens up to form a ramp to the planet's surface, the rocky, windswept landscape and red-hued sky laid out before them.

||Ohm artillery appears to be most heavily concentrated about 1 klick northwest of your current position. I've marked it on your maps in your Omnicomms.||

||Good luck.||

Kazami swears to himself silently. Stacy could've let him grab his motorcycle first. Oh well. He rubs his commring and looks at the others. Everyone's comm rings working? As he waits for the responses, he holds a hand up to shade his eyes as he scans the horizon for any sign of the Ohm. No point in talking, if there's a scout, someone might hear them. Keller, you're in charge according to the briefing. What are your orders?

Julian took a brief moment to look around. He really didn't have much time to find out about everyone's current skillsets, other than what was in the personnel briefs, but no time like the present.

«Loud and clear.» Julian was just a touch more sensitive than most other people to comm rings. «Watch the volume.»

«Here's the deal, the webhead is on the advance scout team, and take the werewolf with you. Get a look at what we're up against, and keep the comms open at all times.» Though he had a feeling he was going to regret that last order.

«Where's the elf?»

Comm rings are coming out loud and clear on my end, replied Phillip as he left the book on his chair and headed out with the others, uploading a sequence of routes highlighted in varying criss-crossing colors into the Omnicom system. Like Kazami, he wished he had the Hardboiler or even access to the RevolGarry, but he figured it would have caused problems later. Adjusting volume on mine.

He looked around and decided after a moment, to doff his usual long coat and leave it there. He only had one thing from his home beyond the usual memories tucked into his pants pocket, and Fang was undoubtedly with him somewhere on this arid terrain. I ran some simulations mentally, and I can upload a quick map of routes we can take to avoid detection with a 72% probability of success to get in and out before they notice us. However I will require intel from the scouting team before we use any of the routes I've marked.

Spider-Man here, listening loud and clear. I'll make sure to keep those channels open. the web-slinger responded. Those maps will come in handy, though - hopefully getting us out if they spot us.

A few moments later, the waldoes on his back extended. These should come in handy, especially for what we're doing. C'mon, Scooby, we got a mystery to solve!

With that, Spidey headed on.

Whatever Charlotte said the Garou, padding after him in Lupus form.

Or would you prefer Shelob?

Wait a moment you two, take these with you, added Phillip before the pair headed out as he clicked a USB device and inserted it into a camera he held. BAT! proclaimed the Gigi Memory as the bat came to life, flapping around Spider-Man in a friendly manner.

DENDEN! added another Gigi Memory as he slotted it into a Snail-like device which leaped out of Phillip's hand and waddled towards them.

Quick rundown, the snail's a binocular sensor which can see through illusions and invisible things. The bat is a camera.

Spidey stopped when Phillip called out to them before taking the devices with him.

Thanks! he replied, nodding at them. Doesn't hurt to have extra help. Tony certainly didn't think of everything! Taking the snail-like device in his hand, he turned back and continued on.

Nanashi here. I shall make sure to keep the channels open, and voice down. My swords are at the ready, waiting for instructions, Keller.

Nanashi wasn't exactly fond of subordinating herself on the battlefield, but fighting command during a mission was so strategically unsound she did not dare to try it.

LASH H- oh wait. Lash here. I don't notice anything special right now, I'll report if anything unusual happens.

She opted to stay unhenshined for now, the bright yellow suit..well standing out a lot more than the ship's normal plant suit.

Affirmative, Katara said, smiling slightly to herself at the borrowed phrase. Like Nanashi, her sword was at her hip, and she had made sure to cover herself too, just in case.

She would have made conversation with the people she already knew, but now was hardly the time. NOW was the time for waiting and listening to what was to happen next.

It wouldn't take long for the scout team to make their way to their destination, and the Ohm forces quickly came into view.

The Ohm were clustered in what appeared to be one of the planet's few oases. Three massive Firebugs stood at the center of the small horde, watching the skies above them, alert for possible attacks.

About a hundred of the notably smaller Grunts were scurrying around, hunting and killing some of the local fauna, tossing the corpses to a couple of strange Ohm creatures, who voraciously devoured them.

Standing watch over all of this was a single, massive Ohm Tank, old and battle scarred, notably larger than the Tanks the crew had encountered on Zokez II.

A formidable force, but thankfully far smaller than the crew's last encounter with the Ohm. And this time, they had the element of surprise.

Wags held back a whine. Okay, definitely smaller than what we saw on Zokez, but that's only relatively. There's gotta be a hundred guys there. Mostly the small ones, but they got a couple of the one that look like they're on fire, one of the big-ass spiders, and two I've never seen before.

I have enhancement spells ready for anybody in close proximity. They will last twenty minutes or so, and should be sufficient to cover all of us. Strength, endurance, and flight. Let me know.

Aibghalien stayed close to but not on the ground, scrutinizing the enemies with a keen eye.

I also have a number of destructive spells at the ready, as well as ones dedicated to battlefield control. In short, tell me what you want obliterated.

Andy was staying behind, not transformed yet like Lash was. Right now he needed to, well, make sure they didn't see him.

That said, he was still ready to transform at a moments notice.

Only a hundred? And only one... Tank? Was that what Cargn called them? Kazami casts his gaze over the group with them. I fear that Stacy may have sent too many people on this mission. He'll allow a little bit of confidence to seep through, to try and keep the others from worrying too much.

The only ones I'm worried about are the new ones, the firecasters, and the Tank. The small ones aren't half as tough as one of Destron's mutants, I've killed dozens of them. He looks over his shoulder at Julian. There was no point in saying it again, the boy knew that everyone was waiting on his word. Kazami may be used to working alone, but he's lead, and been led, often enough to have some discipline about things.
