There almost seemed to be a purpose in his movement as he made his way through the dark corridors of the ship, though it was impossible to tell where he was headed. Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man, on his way to check out the Science Lab, had hitched a ride on Steve as he burst out of the doorway in his escape. Feet firmly stuck to the monster's back. weblines attached to its shoulders, the hero continued in his attempt to direct Steve's movement.

It wasn't working out too well.

"THIS WAS A BAD IDEAAAAAAH!"

The monster had no further patience for the obnoxious clinger on, and as soon as he had room, he turned around and slammed his back up against the nearest building to scrape off the annoyance.

He paid little or no attention to who or what he was stepping on.

So an innocent kid has been warped into a rampaging nine-foot monstrosity. What's the next course of action?

And does it involve a high-powered plasma cannon?

Damn right it involves a high-powered plasma launcher. Which is what Leon just arrived there to pick up, after he checked on a couple of people first.

"Claire, Luis!"

Luis was the first one he ran into, leaning on a table with a makeshift splint and a bandage strapped to his badly bleeding right arm. The lab was looking a little worse for wear, with one of the tables smashed and all its former contents scattered all over the ground.

"We're all right. Just a little banged up."

Claire wasn't much further in, sitting on another table with one arm draped around the Linear Launcher that sat in her lap, the other holding a cold compress up to a good-sized bump on her forehead. When Leon came in she immediately dropped it though, exposing the bandage she'd messily taped over the cut accompanying the bump, but she seemed unconcerned enough with her minor head injury, wrapping her other arm around the gun. Almost like she expected him to attempt to take it away from her.

"Any idea where he's escaped to, yet?" She hoped he was still off-grid. Not only did that mean he couldn't hurt anyone, but it gave them more time to get this crazy idea of Luis's to work.

Miku scurried into the Hub carrying the suppressant gun that she'd only just gotten from Luis. Though she'd smiled and tried to look confident when she picked it up, she felt as transparent as glass. If she wasn't fast enough, there was a good chance that someone would go play Hero and kill Steve.

Maybe that's why her vision was tunneling to show her a path that would get her where she needed to be. She didn't know exactly where in the City Claire and Leon would be, and hoped that her arms wouldn't give out. Even though she was used to running around with photo equipment, it'd been months, and it was starting to pull on her arms. Miku stopped to catch her breath and adjust the gun.

Why couldn't there be just a little more time?

The Force was a strong, strange pull, and when it tugged insistently at Luke, he could not help but answer it. Perhaps it was tired of him brooding, though the nagging feeling in the back of his head was so insistent that he knew it had something to do with someone he was close to.

It hadn't taken long to figure out who.

He'd followed his instincts, as he had half a hundred times before. So when he saw Miku, holding a gun, Luke knew he was on the right track. "Miku!" he called out, jogging the last few steps. Even from a distance he could feel her urgency and her fear; the feelings spiked when he put a steadying hand on her shoulder, then subsided as he pushed them away for the time being. "Miku, what's going on?"

It took Miku a moment to get her jumbled, panicking thoughts to Find them and into Explain quickly. Luckily for the both of them, Steve's relative privacy was still ensured, as they were alone in the Hub. For now. "It's Steve. Something... something didn't go right with his treatment and... and now..." She sniffled and swallowed around the sudden lump in her throat that made her just want to lie down and die."Now he's running around mutated. I'm trying to get this gun to the Captain and Claire. It might save him, and I want him to have that chance. You know how crazy the people on this ship get when they want to kill something." She took a shuddering, shivering breath and nodded towards the exit to the City. "Will you come with me? We might have a better chance of finding them if we go together ( ... )

Luke felt his heart stop for a moment. Steve was like his second son, and knowing how bad it got when Steve mutated...

"You don't have to ask me twice," he said, smiling bravely for the benefit of both of them. Miku was frightened enough, she didn't need to know that he was scared for Steve too. "I'll be right there with you. Lead the way."
