It felt like Namira had been shaken up and tossed unceremoniously to the ground when her pod burst open. She coughed up the sticky, phlegmy fluid from her lungs and sucked in a chestful of air. In her head, a woman’s pleasant voice assured her of her Purpose and how she’d been Chosen.

Namira wasn’t so sure about that. She pushed her hair out of her eyes and stood up slowly, still coughing. The humid air irritated her lungs, and Namira felt an awfully cold chill race up her spine as she looked up and up into the recesses of the pod cavern. Was she dead? Was this some sort of special hell for mages, as the Chantry always suggested there would be? Namira didn’t sense darkspawn, so there was a good chance this wasn’t some sort of strange, abnormal (even for them) place where she’d be slow-roasted before they swarmed her. Clearly, then, she must have expired upon the field, somewhere in the Deep Roads. Oh, goody.

From somewhere down the cavern, there was a howl and a loud, joyous bark. As Namira tried to pinpoint exactly where it was coming from, Hakkar came careening from the darkness.

“Hakkar! Am I ever glad to see you,” Namira cooed to the dog, scratching behind his short ears as his stubby tail wagged violently. He barked again, and licked her face. “Have you seen the others? Alistair? Leliana?”

The dog lowered his head and whimpered. Drawing her brows together, Namira straightened up. “Well, we’re not going to find any answers standing around here, are we? Come along, Hakkar, let’s go.”

The destroyers of worlds... a great purpose. Nunnally almost couldn't believe what she was "hearing", but she knew better by now. There was a great, wide multiverse out there; it almost made sense that she'd been "chosen".

This was still so disorienting, though, waking up covered in... what was this stuff? She stumbled to her feet, still unsteady on them, and turned toward the sound of a woman's voice and a dog's bark. "Ah-- hello?"

Hakkar growled menacingly, and Namira clucked her tongue at the dog, "There will be none of that - there's no darkspawn here." She turned her attention to the voice. "Find her, and bring her here, mm?" Hakkar barked once and took off to find the girl.

There was nothing small about a mabari warhound, and Hakkar was certainly a fine specimen of his breed. As he came upon Nunnally, he barked again, friendly but also a bit wary.

Nunnally blinked in surprise when the dog approached her, and extended one slime-covered hand in greeting.

"Hello," she said gently, smiling to him, though his size was... intimidating. "Would you happen to know where I should go to find Stacy?" Not that dogs could talk... but maybe he could understand. She knew from experience that cats were smarter than people let on, so who knew about dogs?

Hakkar's leaned forward slightly, sniffing Nunnally's hand as if examining her for OKAYNESS. His ears twitched, and as though he were pronouncing her a non-threat, Hakkar licked her hand clean of slime. It didn't taste that great, but it was the least he could do for the slimy girl, no less than what he'd done for his mistress, after all!

With a happy bark, he turned and started trotting down the path back towards Namira. When Nunnally didn't immediately follow (bad pup), Hakkar stopped, looked her dead in the eyes and barked again.

Nunnally did wince a little when the dog licked her -- he was so big, after all -- and hesitated when he started off on his own. But when he turned and barked to her again, it was clear: He really was a smart dog.

She nodded. "Ah, sorry. I'm coming." And she followed along behind him.

Hakkar barked again, pleased, and trotted up to where Namira waited for them. "That's a good boy, Hakkar, you found her. And she's all in one piece." Namira knelt and gave the big dog a healthy scratch behind his ears before turning her attention to Nunnally.

"Are you alright, dear? Hakkar didn't snap at you, did he?"

"Ah, no, he was very nice," she replied, a little bemused. At least she wasn't alone, but... "This might sound a little silly, but... Are you Stacy? I heard a voice, you see..."

Namira's smile was kind, but she shook her head, "No, I'm not Stacy. I'm Namira. Namira Amell. I imagine you heard the voice in your head, too?"

"Yes, I did. Was it the same for you?" And then-- "Oh, I'm sorry-- my name is Nunnally vi Britannia." It was only proper.

"Are you Tevinter?" Namira asked immediately curious. Her name sounded like it belonged from the Tevinter Empire (though it could hardly be called that now), with such a strange accent, too. "Ah, I'm sorry. You asked me a question and I answered it with another. Uh, yes. I did hear the voice. And I imagine Hakkar did as well."

She looked back behind her, where the lights seemed to want to lead them. "There's a path that leads that way, I imagine our answers will be at the end of it. Or, more questions."

Still unused to using her eyes to find her way, Nunnally finally looked down and saw the lights. "It doesn't look like there's any place else for us to go, so... shall we?" She started toward the path.

And then she replied, "And I'm sorry, but I've never heard of anyone called Tevinter. I'm from a place called Britannia, if that's helpful?"

"No," Namira sighed and looked a bit disappointed. "Unfortunately not."

Squeezing some of the slime from her hair, she smiled at Nunnally. "Let's go see what we can find, and hopefully, some clothing. Mm?"

"--right," she replied, turning a little red. "Ah, let's go."
