Katamari on the Blues [OPENNN]

Sep 21, 2010 11:06

In a corner of the obs deck, near the windows looking out over the bleed, there was a pile of papers scattered around. Upon closer inspection, they were slightly messy crayon drawings. Several of them tried to depict the view of the bleed out the window with dark smudges of color blended into each other. A few tried to do some perspective including ( Read more... )

Vivio had wandered over to the Observation Deck, hoping to seem oblivious to the goings on so far. Making her way across to the windows, she caught sight of the papers and the various drawings before noticing the Prince by the picture of two others seemingly like him.

Her heterochroma eyes looked over at the Prince and frowned a bit.

"Are you okay?" Vivio asked.

He glanced up behind himself at the human girl who had approached, a little startled by her sudden appearance. He stood up and turned around to face her, considering how to answer her question before finally shaking his head, "no."

The Prince looked around for a blank sheet of paper, recovered a blue crayon and wrote across the top of the paper.

[WE ARE A BIT SAD. :( ]

Vivio looked down seeing the message. "I'm so sorry..." she said. "You need a friend?"

She smiled a bit sadly. It seemed that that was something he dearly needed.

The Prince nodded to her response. He was a fairly friendly little guy, but in a place like this it was easy to feel overwhelmed.

[THANK YOU VERY MUCH] he scribbled out, [WE WERE JUST FEELING A BIT LONELY.]

He gestured over at the picture he'd just finished drawing with his foot. [WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT OUR PARENTS.]

"Your..." Vivio began. She looked at the picture, then at the Prince. He was just like so many other children on the ship - separated by the Ohm. Vivio was lucky - she had so many from her world: her Nanoha-mama and Fate-mama, Reinforce (both of them), Hayate, Signum, Subaru... Einhart... The Prince?

She took a chair and sat by the Prince.

"I'm sure your parents are okay. They wouldn't of been left behind..." she said, trying to reassure him.

The Prince nodded softly, then wrote more.

[WE MISS THEM. WE WISH THEY WERE HERE. WE CAN'T FIX THINGS, BUT OUR FATHER COULD IF HE WAS HERE.]

Because the King of All Cosmos had always been around to fix what was broken. If he were here, then all of this universe business could be set right and put back to normal. The Prince had tried to do it alone, rolling the katamaris, but the fact of the matter was that he was just not strong enough to fix the cosmos yet.

The Prince stared down at the drawing of the King and Queen sadly.

[WE ARE JUST A LITTLE PRINCE. WE CAN'T HELP LIKE WE SHOULD.]

"Don't say that!" Vivio said, seeing the message. "I know... things are too big for us. It's even bigger than the adults can handle."

She reached over, gently laying a hand on the Prince's head. "But, I know everything will work out for all of us. And I know we'll all be able to do something to help out."

The Prince pushed Vivio's fingers out of his vision like her hand was a tremendous hat, looking up at her with a curious expression.

[WHAT CAN WE DO?] he wrote.

"Hmm... that's a good question..." Vivio said. Her eyes began looking around, trying to figure out something, though she let out a small sigh after awhile. "I wish I knew. Though, that doesn't mean you should give up. Even the smallest things could help out in a big way, right?"

The Prince nodded enthusiastically, setting aside his blue crayon for a nice bright red one.

[WE KNOW THAT FOR SURE. WE CAN'T GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT!] he wrote, then underlined the "can't give up" part, looking up at Vivio for approval.

[OUR PARENTS WOULD NOT WANT US TO!]
