She's not so sure anymore, and not just because he isn't here right now). Physical activity to de-stress was a popular pastime lately, it seemed.

Axl wasn't really surprised to walk in on someone else getting their frustrations out in the sensoriums, with everything that had just happened. He was a little surprised, however, when he realized he'd just walked in on Laurie. She hadn't really struck him as the type to unwind by hitting things.

He could've just turned around, quietly walked out, and come back to get his own relaxation-through-property-destruction game on later, but he was wondering how she was doing. (If she was hitting stuff, his guess was "not so hot," all things considered.) And he did like --

-- uh, like talking to her, that was all! (Robot boys are apparently no less stupid about these things than human boys are, at least in Axl's world.)

"Hey, uh, sorry to interrupt, but." But what. Uh. "How're you doing?"

"Sorry if I surprised you!" he said quickly. "You'd think Stacy would have, like...I dunno. Occupied/Vacant signs on these things or something. So, I mean, if you're busy, I can take off, but I just...thought I'd ask. It's been kind of a crazy week and all that."

[terribly2shy]

"Yea it has," she says a little quietly, rubbing her arm with her gloved-hand anxiously. "It's OK. I'm not busy..." in many senses. She'd been standing there ready to throw a punch for five minutes before Axl walked in.

[gunslinging]

"I didn't know you boxed."

He was guessing she didn't box, but it seemed like a better thing to say than man, I totally never saw you as the boxing type.

[terribly2shy]

"I don't," she quickly says. "Um, I was just trying it out. For the first time. Warfare training hasn't been announced yet, and I just wanted to keep up my training." She taps one of her gloves hands against the punching bag. It doesn't even move.

[gunslinging]

"Yeah, that makes sense. I've been kind of slacking off on melee stuff lately. I guess I should work on it more, but..." He shrugs. "I dunno, it's not really the same without Zero around to beat it into me."

[terribly2shy]

"Yea," Laurie solemnly says. "I miss training with the New Mutants. I was really comfortable training with my friends."

[gunslinging]

"Yeah. I mean, I guess the logical solution is just 'so make new friends,' but..." He shrugs again. "Putting it that way makes people sound kinda...replaceable, or something. I dunno. Nothing against anyone I've met here, I like you guys, but..."

But it's not quite the same.

Laurie looks at her feet glumly for a moment. She'd never thought of it that way. "I guess it is..." She weakly smiles at his explanation, or at least attempt of an explanation. "It's all right. I get what you mean."

[gunslinging]

"Ugh, sorry, this got way more depressing than I meant it to." Axl wrinkled his nose.

"It's OK," she says, trying to not sound so quiet.

"I'll make it up to you later!"

He has no idea how he plans on doing that. It just kind of slipped out. But surely he can think of something awesome and cheery to do sometime when the recent tragedies aren't quite so fresh on everyone's minds.

"Huh?" she looks up, surprised, and cheeks flushing at the implication. "For me? Y-you don't really have to do that."

[gunslinging]

"Well, I may not have to, but I want to, so it works out fine, right?"

[terribly2shy]

"Sure..." She's feeling much better now. "So, um, what did you want to do?"
