Contrary to popular belief, Charles Kawalsky didn't drink all the time. He hadn't gotten to the rank of Major without reason. It took time and effort to keep his body in shape and his skills honed, and so he'd been running through a combat simulation. By the end of it he was coated in sweat and his body was aching but with the adrenaline surging through him, he barely felt it.
