Instead of the usual parade grounds today the sensoriums was set to a forest that would be considered quite lovely if it didn't have a very intimidating looking obstacle course dropped in to the middle of it. Oh Kyle. Lash's grin didn't leave her lips the entire time he spoke. A normal obstacle course, she could have done respectfully well, but something stuck inside the forest? That was where her CO powers could be put to good use and where her strength was. The fact she could even use them to give her partner a boost meant that they'd make this whole thing look like child's play for everyone else. Worse off, her own powers meant she wouldn't have a problem at all.

"I hope you're good," she told Yamato confidently near the starting line. "Because I won't accept us anything but us finishing first." Nothing like a bit of competition between the teams and your own teammate to get the blood pumping, right?

Kira glanced over at his partner - she looked younger than he was, but this sort of thing was always hard to judge. She seemed confident, to say the least. Still, his genes would probably make this easier on him than she expected. "I should be all right," he nodded.

"I'll follow your lead, if you'd like."

"Okay but make sure you don't fall behind too much, I don't want to have to wait for you too often, tee hee hee." Without waiting for his reply, she started to run. This part was easy.

((OOC - Tell me when you want her to active her CO powers, basically it will give them the ability to move in forests as easily as if they were in open plains and a boost of attack, defense and speed. Not that they'll need the first two))

Overhead Bars

[Yes they are monkey bars. They are of course longer then normal and feature a turn the recruits must negotiate.]

Despite the length, they were doing pretty good in terms of time. Lash held on steadfast, using her own body to push herself forward faster. It was a dangerous move, but she made it look simple (in reality her hands were hurting a little). She arrived at the sharp turn, making the movement by putting her hands together before changing directions.

Kira would really rather save his breath for moving than talking, but he kept his pace even and tempered. "I'm all right," he answered. "Remember to," he breathed as he swung to the next rung, "save your strength. Better to get there a bit slower than have to start over."

Tay, having finished teasing her partner (for now), moves on to the overhead bars and scrutinizes them for a moment. She's stronger than she used to be, sure, but she's never actually used these, and isn't sure if she'll be able to manage them.

Not that she'll admit that.

Balance Beams

They were doing really good time and despite herself, Lash was impressed at how the other Rogue member was keeping up. Maybe once this was over, they should talk more. She suddenly stopped at the next obstacle. Oh! A balance beam. Well, she wasn't a gymnast to do impressive things on it, but her CO powers did mean she could show off a little. Like moonwalking (if she knew who Michael Jackson was, anyway) across it at a really good speed, allowing her to both look in the front and quickly to the back at the same time.

She was being ingenious! Really! And showing off a bit, woops.

Kyle gently pushed Lash through the Force. Not too hard. Just enough to upset her balance a little if she didn't pay more attention. Clearly he should have made some of this course a bit more difficult.

Wooha, that gust of wind was much stronger than she thought it had been. Lash quick extended her arms to give herself a proper balance, and decided to do the rest of the way normally, in case something like that happened again and she suddenly fell off.

Low Crawl

[There's several pieces wire set low to the ground. Don't worry its of the non pokey variety. Just get under there, and crawl your way past it.]

It didn't take them too long to get to the next obstacle. Lash near;y threw herself under the wires, her hair mercifully and somehow not getting tangled on it. She used her hands to push her entire body. Her heart was pumping as she moved on the ground. This reminded her of so many things of her old home.

Maybe she was enjoying this a little bit too much.

Sweat was just beginning to bead on Kira's forehead as he followed Lash, keeping low to the ground and moving as fast as he could without bumping into her from behind.

"Get the lead out, recruits!" Trudy yelled, stalking around the side of the course. "This isn't a goddamn vacation! You don't start going faster and I'll start giving you some motivation!"

She tapped her service rifle agianst her calf, giving her words some weight. The recruits will have learned by now that Kyle was the nice one, and they never really knew when Trudy was joking or not.

Cargo Net Climb
