Clothes Shopping

It was really fun having time to frolick in the water: she had no idea when it was going to happen again, so she freely enjoyed herself. Now that it was over and Sokka had no interst clothes shopping with her, Katara had gone off on her own, looking for something to wear, now that she had the chance. She had seen some of the people on the ship and waved at them as they passed by, hoping she might speak with them if she had the chance.

For now, she was off on her own, and was planning to look well.

Katara has already made a list, being as orderly as she can. "Let me see: blouses, shirts, pants, dresses, shoe...OOF!"

She was so into what she was going to get that she ran into someone. She was going to apologize when she noted the person: it was someone from the ship. Katara is actually not in her plantsuit, since she's still drying in her bathing suit.

"Oh, sorry," she said, offering the striking woman a sheepish smile. Wow, she was pretty. "Got a little caught up in my list!"

Nura rubs at her head, laughing off the slight ache on the slight smarting bump on her head. "It's alright, Dear, no harm done." As she shakily gets her bearings, she puts out her hand for the person that she's bumped into to take. "I should be the one who should be apologizing."

This is when she gets a good look at the person she fell with: she's a lovely young lady, with a certain air to her that Nura really likes. A genuinely happy young girl. On the ship, it usually is a large amount of grief and "I miss my home". Of which Nura partook in. But perhaps that is because she hasn't really met a lot of the people on the ship yet.

But it sure is nice to meet someone so bright.

Katara hadn't met the woman before but she seemed nice enough and wasn't going to get all hostile for bumping into her: that was a plus. She looked down at her list of clothing she wanted to get, and at the very least. she might be able to get some help.

"Would you be able to help me?" Katara asked, shyly resting on the heels and then going back and forth. "I want to do some shopping, get some clothes and all, but I've never really shopped in a world like this before. I could really use some help, if you don't mind?"

Though Katara wasn't a meek little thing, even things like this could make her apprehensive.

Nura smiles. "Well why not. Shopping is always twice as fun when you do it with a friend. Plus, it takes two to search out the good tasteful bargains."

She reaches up and lifts her sunglasses so that her blue blue eyes are revealed. "I'm Nura, by the way." She puts out her hand in a greeting for Katara to shake. "Nura Nal-Dox, but Nura or Mrs. Dox will suffice." She laughs as if it is a funny little joke.

Katara nodded, smiling. "Thanks! And I agree with you there: I hardly ever go shopping by myself, its actually been a really long time. Usually, it was just for food supplies. Now that I have money to shop for my own, I have no idea what to do with myself!"

Katara shook her hand, wondering about what was funny about the name Nura or Dox. She was pretty sure that Luna might have mentioned something about some kind of animal called a dox, but she wasn't sure.

Katara thought a moment. "Well, I really would like to get some clothes that isn;t the plantsuit. Maybe a dress, some skirts, a few blouses with socks, some boots..."

Then a great idea hit her. "Hey, is there a place we can dance later on tonight? I could go there, but with a new outfit!"

Zorker? She had no idae what tah meant at all, but she still got the gist of what Nura was saying: conserve what she bought with shoes, and choose boots taht would really get her noticed. Girly advice received.

Katara nodded. "Oh, you knwo Sofia too? I've met her a few times, she seems nice!"

Nura nods. "Yes. I met her during that crisis with the futzwit Nightmare King. She was...very sad. But I suppose she's very happy now that she has her friend back." She then frowns a little. "However, I'm not a fan of her ex-boyfriend." Would she ever, really? No. Impossible.

"By the way, did I catch your name? I'm not so sure."

"Oh, I think I met her then too," Katara said, now that she thought about it. "Whoever her friend is, I'm glad that she's with that person now. But who is this ex-boyfriend you;re talking about? Is it anyone that I know?"

Katara started. "Oh! I'm sorry! I'm so rude! My name is Katara, of the Southern Water Tribe!"

Nura laughs and waves her hand in a 'no no' fashion. "Oh, Sweetie, I don't want to unload Sofia's dirty laundry. But," she sighs with the shake of her head, ponytail waving. "...trust me, he is a complete zorker."

She likes the sound of Katara's name. "Katara, hmm? That's a beautiful name."

Katara would have to just take her word for it: and at least now she had an idea of what a "zorker" was. Certain creeps that she'd met in her world came to mind.

She smiled. "Thanks! I like yours too, its very nice. So where did youi want to go first?"

Since she was still in her one piece and wanted to put on something new.

"Hmm...I always shop where there are sales first. You never know with bargains. You can always find something zeta-cute for a good price."
