For the most part, between trying to spend time with the younger kids and her magic studies, Sasami has spent a lot of her time trying to clean up the massive tree-palace that was her first home. It didn't matter if she had help or not - she was enjoying it nonetheless ( Read more... )

How had he missed this? It was HUGE!

Ben walked into the palace, whistling as he did so. "Wow. This place puts a lot of alien architecture to shame. Is this all one tree?"

Looking at the unused pillows and seats everywhere, he walked up to the front of the palace and peered at the throne. "Fit for an emperor I guess," said Ben, stroking the chair and hoping it wasn't booby trapped.

When it seemed safe, he grinned and flopped down, crossing his legs. "Oh man, this thing's comfy!"

Sasami had resumed her cleaning when she noticed someone else inside. It was nice to have someone else inside, but... acting like THEY owned the place?

"H-Hey! You can't act like that here!" Sasami protested.

Ben jerked, and blushed guiltily as he scrambled out of the chair. "Sorry! Didn't realize that this place was being kept up by someone."

Aw man, it was a kid too. Probably her parents were here too and this was probably someone's chair, someone important.

"Sorry."

Unknown Alien DNA detected."

Ben blinked. Wait what?

Sasami snorted a bit in annoyance. "I can't believe this... now I gotta..."

She blinked as she heard the warning... then started to step back, worried. After the incident with Karen, she had been more careful not to say who she was. Now...?

"Hey, sorry, it's okay really! I'm used to Alien life," called out Ben in a placating manner, worried she might bolt. Stupid Ultimatrix and it's timing.

"I think we got off on the wrong foot too. I'm Ben."

Sasami stopped before she could run. He didn't mind? Really? She reluctantly stood her ground.

"I'm Sasami. It's nice to meet you, Ben. Even if we started out wrong..."

"Yeah I'm sorry too. I didn't think anyone was here so I just had to sit down." He cast a glance at the throne and added, "That chair's REALLY comfy. I kinda envy the guy who gets to sit in that all day."

Sasami let out a chuckle. "That's my father's. The Emperor of Jurai's." she said, matter of factly.

She'd let Ben put two and two together.

FFFFF Emperor?! Holy crap.

"So you're a princess then," said Ben with a grin. "I've never really met a princess before..."

"Uncatalogued Alien DNA detected."

Right. Almost forgot about that. "Looks like my Ultimatrix wants to sample your DNA. It's obviously not in the database. You pest."

"Uncatalogued Alien DNA detected." The Ultimatrix replied in an almost cheeky manner.

Sasami chuckled a bit. "Well, looks like you have now...!" Hearing the Ultimatrix chiming in with the message and what Ben had said, Sasami started worrying a bit.

"Sample my DNA? I-It's not going to hurt, is it?"

Ben chuckled as he stooped down to look Sasami directly in the eye. "No it won't hurt," he assured her. "There's no needles or anything involved. Just a yellow light."

"If you let it, I'll show you something cool?" offered Ben.

"Well..." Sasami said, letting out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "...okay, then!"

Ben nodded. "It'll only take a second."

Scanning...

A yellow light shifted from it and played across Sasami from head to toe before it winked out. The device beeped rapidly before reporting DNA recorded. Add to current cycle?

"Do it."

The Ultimatrix beeped once more and then it clicked to green as it displayed what appeared to be a humanoid in a vivid green outline.

"Okay, don't blink!" And Ben hit the plunger.

"Don't bli--" Sasami repeated before watching Ben hit the plunger and started his transformation.

"B-Ben?!"

Ben felt a curious sensation of slipping into a skin that wasn't his. His hair changed, but his basic form stayed mostly the same. No different or radical transformation. But there was something about it that made him feel more alive, like there was a newfound strength running through him.

When the flash from the transformation receded from the split second of change, he shook his head. "Wow, that felt really weird." Ben touched his throat. "What happened to my voice? And why do I look the same? Gee, I thought this would be a little different than normal."

Sasami blinked as the transformation finished and upon seeing Ben's new form...

"...Tenchi...?"
