Wyn stands fairly close to the doorway, a friendly smile on her face. She knows how hard it is to wake up on a spaceship, not knowing anything about what's going on, so she tries to make it a little easier on everyone. She holds a large-ish sign reading 'I ANSWER QUESTIONS' in neat capital letters above her head, hoping that the newbies will notice.
"Subtle is my middle name!" Wyn says brightly. "Really, though, someone's got to help the new people out, and it might as well be really obvious who can help."
It even helps his mood, small thing though is, and there a little more spring in Axl's step as he makes a beeline over. "So, I might've heard you answer questions."
"I do!" Wyn says cheerfully, turning to face the newcomer. "I'm Wyn. Welcome aboard the good ship Stacy. What do you need to know? Besides everything, if you're new."
"Axl, nice to meet you," he says, matching her tone. Cheer is contagious, and it's not like he's going to make it anywhere by blubbering in the corner, right?
"Everything sounds about right, but let's start with the big one. Last thing I remember before I got here, I was with a couple of people. Is there any way I can find them here?" Surely if he got yanked here, they would've too. Surely.
"The best way to find them is probably to just search around in here, when everyone's in one spot." Wyn says, biting her lip in thought. "The ship's huge, and there's no way you'll find them just poking around-- although I'd recommend doing that anyway, because it's a good way to find where everything is in here."
Axl's gaze sweeps the room. It's a lot of people, though after a cursory scan (both with straight optics and with his other scanners), things don't look terribly promising.
"Sorry about that, but it's the best way. Just about everyone comes to the meet and greet after a new batch of people arrive." Wyn says with a shrug. "If your friends are here, though, I'm sure they'll be looking for you too."
"Hey, don't apologize. It's not like it's your fault or anything." For half a moment, Axl looks almost deflated, but he snaps out of it quickly and puts a smile back on his face.
"I've made it okay without them before. Worst case scenario, I just...do that again."
It's not a lie, technically, but before he had them he had Red Alert, and when he thinks about it, Axl's never really been without someone around to look up to, someone to dispense noogies and cover fire. If X and Zero really aren't here...it's going to be weird.
"If it makes you feel better, you're not the only one here who hasn't had anyone they know wake up." Wyn offers Axl a small smile. "I was here by myself for a while, and I know a few other people who didn't know anyone when they woke up-- and still don't, come to think of it."
"Well, I guess they do say misery loves company," Axl laughs. It wasn't really that funny, probably, but knowing he's not the only one does help.
"So they just...wake up a new batch every so often or something?" He pauses, then frowns -- "Does that say things I won't want to hear about the mortality rate here, or...?"
"No, just that Stacy's on a schedule." Wyn says dryly. "The mortality rate is, um. I would say nonexistent, but that wouldn't be quite true, so I'll just go with extremely low." The exceptions to the rule were the zombified, now-dead crewmembers and B5, and Wyn would much rather dwell on other subjects.
"Is there anyone in particular you want me to keep an eye out for?" she offers, in a not-at-all-transparent attempt to change the subject.
He catches the subject change easily enough, and just nods in response to that information -- and hey, her question is something he'd much rather think about anyway.
"The two I'm really looking for are X and Zero. X is a little taller than me, blue armor if he's actually wearing it. Dark hair, green eyes, really nice guy. Zero's a lot easier to spot, though, because he's got the most ridiculously long ponytail known to man -- he's a blonde. Red armor, goes between being a pretty cool guy or being flat-out terrifying depending on whether you catch him in a mood or not."

But everyone's got to grow up sometime.
