Selene didn't dream. She hadn't been able to dream on her own since she got her power. However, that didn't mean she didn't have fantasies or daydreams. She had plenty of those. Dreams of going to college and getting her license. Actually being able to help people beyond just drunkards. Not the superhero kind though.

The normal kind. More than anything...Selene really wanted to be normal.

"I really don't think it suits me," Selene said, turning and looking at herself in the mirror in the clothing store. "This sort of dress..."

"Trust me, Selene. I know what I'm talking about. It's not so bad to show some leg, you know," said a beautiful woman. Not just beautiful, stunning. The kind of face that could launch a thousand ships.

"Helen, this is a dress more suited for you..." Selene said, looking over at the woman.

"What are you talking about? You have great legs!" Helen said.

"Hm? You...think so?" Selene asked, looking at her legs.

"Of course. You walk around enough they keep in shape, and you sleep in the sun enough to get a nice tan for them," Helen said, putting her hands on Selene's shoulders, resting her head on the other girl's shoulder. "You should buy it. You'll knock everyone dead at the party."

Selene turned red. "I think that'd go to you...."

"...fine. You'll be their second death," Helen said.

Selene laughed. "Couldn't be modest, huh?"

"I'm aware of how beautiful I am," Helen said. "It's a statement of fact then."

Selene smiled. "True. After all, I keep getting those questions. 'Hey, Selene, you know Deja Vu right?' 'Is she as pretty as on TV?' 'Does she visit?' 'Can you introduce me?' Questions all the time because I'm your friend."

"Not too bothersome, is it?" Helen asked.

"Well, it's a bit better than them trying to grope me or something..." Selene admitted.

"I'll make sure to warn you before I visit. I'd have to whack them if they did that," Helen said.

Selene laughed and looked at the mirror again. Slowly, the smile became small and sad. "...you know...I wish it was like this. Just...like this. I'm just the friend of Deja Vu and that be all the weird..."

"Selene?" Helen said questioningly.

"That's normal here. To be on the edge of the weird, but never really involved. Just know about it, know some stuff or people connected to it, but always outside...if I had just known you, if that's all it had boiled down to, us being friends..." Selene trailed off.

"...you're saying weird things. Did hit yourself with the Nemesis Rod again? You're not getting visions on me, are you?" Helen asked.

Selene looked at Helen and sighed. "...I really miss you. I miss everyone. Not what we did, but everyone was so nice. Except maybe E. I always did want him to jump off a cliff and forget to fly half the time..."

"All of us do," Helen said.

Selene sighed. "And that's because it's normal for us..."
