A First Time for Everything

Alessa was in the Sensoriums, and assumed that anyone with good sense would take a look in, immediately understand that this place was not for them, and leave unless they were Evangeline.

This was the spot she started with on the outside: while she was not unhappy with her factory, Alessa was starting to get a little homesick with what she had ( Read more... )

Counter to her assumptions, Goliath sees a vista of horror and immediately thinks that he ought to figure out who's created it and why, and what is in it.

By the time he finds Alessa, he has already explored the simulation enough to have understood much of the place's full atmosphere, and finding the demon girl grants him a little bit of illumination as to what kind of person would choose to create an illusion such as this. He stands and watches her at work. The sound of his footsteps has no doubt already given him away.

Alessa would have argued with her creation being called a vista of horror, but that was all in the eye of the beholder. She sensed the other presence in the air, and she vaguely recognized the signature, but didn't look up for the moment.

She continued to make the stairway winding, and when she was done with that she was outside again, securing a graveyard. She knew that was a bit cliche, but humans had such fear of the dead she couldn't help herself. As far as she was concerned, anything that resembled the non-normalcy of human, their biggest fears, could be contained in this place.

Finally, she appeared next to Goliath a moment later. "Can I help you?"

Telling, then, that the first one to visit isn't human. To scare Goliath - though he does not scare easily - shattered statues would have been more appropriate.

"Why have you summoned this place?"

She might have expected disbelief, disgust for the surroundings. Goliath sounds - and is - merely curious.

"I wanted something to do that was not my Silent Hill," Alessa said simply. "In my space in the City, its more fog and darkness and monsters. I like it fine, its my way. But I wanted a chance to see what else I could make if I were to get creative. So far, I have the factory and those within it, and usually, I am content with it."

She closed her eyes. "But it has been a long time since our last battle. There is no escaping what I am: I am a demon, and there are certain things a demon must do to maintain themselves. If those things are not met, then chaos is sure to follow. Granted, most demons could care less about letting that part of themselves out, but as I have people who are itching to take a crack at me, I would prefer to maintain my status on the ship."
