Kang already had a tankard of cactus juice in hand, and was leaning against the bar, watching everyone else. The crowd may have been different from what the tavern had typically seen before, but it felt good to see full tables and to hear laughter. They all needed this.

He still had bandages on his wing membrane, thigh, and the end of his tail, and a few scrapes and cuts, but the injuries were healing up nicely and didn't bother him much anymore.

"Hey Kang!" A party! What timing! "Just what's going on? I was walking down the halls and the next thing I know I've been spat out in the city wondering where my cake went. Just what happened here?"
