Clark looked out over the strange battlefield. For the most part, it did look like hell. For the moment, though, he put it behind him. He needed to focus on the task at hand - finding others and aiding them as well. Kon was safe for now. Others needed his help now.
As he double checked the weapons he had gotten from the earlier dream, he let out a sigh.
"I really wish I had my powers right now... but, no time for what if..." he uttered.
A young man clad in partial German uniform comes around the corner cautiously, rifle raised. He came to a halt as he spotted the rather large, handsome man wielding his own weapon.
Superman was unfazed by the young man's reaction and the fact that he had his rifle trained on him. If he was going to make it through, he was going to have to do this cautiously.
"Easy, son. I'm here to help." he said, his voice firm, yet calming. "I'm Superman, someone who was just recently freed. I have others here with me who can vouch for me."
He was starting to wonder if this young man wouldn't recognize him, like Fate.
"Wait, Superman?" There was another man, this one older, but dressed in an American uniform from the same war. His own rifle hung loosely from hand, helmet pushed back on his head. He stood, staring open-mouthed.
"As in, 'faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap buildings in a single bound' Superman?"
Samus cut in. Don't mind the six plus feet of powered armor butting into this conversation, but she kind of thought there are more important things than fanboying right about now, "Not the time for pleasantries, men. We have more important matters to be dealing with."
"Agreed. We're not out of the woods yet." Superman said. He turned to Samus as he continued talking. "I take it we're going to try to find the others on board here and help them, yes? There has to be more of them elsewhere..."
"Never thought I'd hear you utter that question," Batman, soaked half in rain and half in blood emerges over the top of a pile of rubble, "The multiverse really must be ending."
Samus held out her hand to indicate that once again, maybe the chatter should be cut short. She can sense the animosity between the current group, but honestly she has more important things to care about.
"I suggest that begin our search," and by that she meant 'I don't give a damn about who any of you are but you better shut up soon because we have work to do.' And it almost pained her to add this next part, but she felt it necessary to add, "And I believe cooperation is necessary to ensure the survival of the remaining crew."
"Again, I agree..." Superman said, nodding. "Let's try to gather everyone we can and help those who need it if need be." Right now, he didn't know where everything was or who was needed. He was going to infer to Samus for the time being.
He wouldn't admit it outright, but, in the back of his head, it was nice to see Bruce around. Now if Diana was around...
"You should see the other guy," Bruce fires sardonically in Lex's direction. Only most of the blood was his.
"I was hoping my search was over," he replies to Samus, thumbing in the direction he came from, "I've got wounded behind me and I don't have the skills to treat them."
Of course, it never was that easy. He lifts the Apokoliptan pistol, feeling that ugly weight in his hand, loathing every second of it, "We move fast and we move quietly. Use the buildings for cover. We get caught in a firefight and it's not just the others who'll need help. Secondary objective is to establish a defensible safe zone to extract the non-combatants to."
"That might be a reasonably smart strategy if we were actually in World War II. Problem is, this is some alternate version. I'm fairly certain neither the Allies nor the Nazi's had one of those on the battlefield," Lex stated, pointing at the T-Rex was several blocks away from their position.
"Kinda changes the game a little, one would think."
Well that made things entirely more excellent. More space dinosaurs were exactly what Samus needed more of in her life. It's not like her arch rival was already one or anything.
The previously mentioned dinosaur happened to be looking over at them right then. Its sight is primitive though, and Samus wasn't totally sure if it could see them.
She toyed with the idea of taking the offensive and attacking it straight away but somehow she thought that was a bad idea.
"Somehow I don't think my thirty-ought-six is gonna stop that thing..." Robert mutters before nodding to the group. "ANd he's right. This isn't World War Two. Now that we're awake, I wouldn't be surprised if everybody is after us. Germans and Allies." As if to punctuate his point, a burst of gunfire whizzed around the group and RObert hit the ground, flattening himself.
"Get down! Fancy armor or not." He propped himself up and fired off a few shots in return.
Erwin had been staring at this new group curiously. They carried themselves with such confidence and poise, even in the middle of the carnage... and then his thoughts had been interrupted by gunfire. He followed Robert's lead, throwing himself into a nearby crater. He crawled to the lip, calling out over the noise, "I think I agree - we should keep moving! If we get pinned down we'll be in trouble."
"We go in two waves. One moves while the other provides covering fire, then alternate," Batman shouts through the spray of rock dust and bullets from his own foxhole, "Somebody tell me they have ordnance that can bring down a dinosaur."
As he double checked the weapons he had gotten from the earlier dream, he let out a sigh.
"I really wish I had my powers right now... but, no time for what if..." he uttered.
Locked and loaded, he continued on.
Right now? This looked like a job for Superman.

"...who are you?"
He wasn't lowering the weapon, though.

Yes, Lex Luthor, who was actually in the same vicinity as Clark Kent and not actively trying to kill him.
Welcome to the Apocalypse, Bruce.
