Anakin was a Jedi-trained; even in his clouded state the limited prescience of the force guided his blade and the bullet hit his Lightsaber's plasma with a flash of light as it vaporized. Obi-Wan half turned at the shot, distracted, and his attention caught on the jarring incorrectness of Leon and Alessa standing among the charred soil.

What in the-

That was a mistake: the Nightmare-Anakin slashed upwards from his block and it was a near thing for Kenobi to execute the blind dodge. If he'd had less trust in the Force, he'd have lost an eye, but the break in the fight was like a cold bucket of water among the hellish heat.

No. No, this wasn't right, this wasn't right.

"This isn't right," The Jedi said aloud, as if to force it to be true. Anakin wouldn't do this to him, Obi-Wan knew that! Not Anakin! The presence of Alessa and Leon only confirmed it, and the truth of Obi-Wan's faith snapped to the cool grip of the Force like the first cool drink after an eternity in the desert. He was awake, or at least aware, but there was still the issue of the snarling not-Anakin barring his way, "No, this isn't real."

There was a blur of motion and Mai joined the fight. She ignored the oppressive heat, sending a handful of knifes spinning after the phantom Anakin. This was just someone else's nightmare, but Mai was always Mai. Efficient and very deadly when she wanted to be.

Buffy was behind Mai, her scythe swinging. "Hey Annie!" Buffy yelled out as she ducked under the handful of knives that Mai sent out, and came up right in front of Anakin. She made a breathing, gaspy sound, mimicking Vader's famous breathing sounds. Then she said, "I am your Slayer!" And she went to brain him with the scythe.

Alessa couldn't help but snicker at the last comment. Really, these people were too much. It was enough that they were getting closer to the city, but they were all so very different and varied she couldn't help but like their little group.

"I trust you get the message then," Alessa said. "Your help is needed elsewhere. Don't be fooled by this false fight."

Between the knives and Buffy's physical intervention, Obi-Wan was forced to step back from the fight. Desperately, he turned his face away- no, he didn't want to see that. Not even in a nightmare, he didn't want to watch Anakin die.

Of course, even a determines, super-strong Slayer and Mai's accuracy weren't going to be enough to take him on on their own. The knives pinged and hissed from his lightsaber in much the same fashion as the bullets had- though he could easily have died if they hadn't.

The Scythe was a little more....problematic, engendering a brief shoving match between the crossed blades that resulted in Anakin letting out an enraged, frustrated growl and lashing out at Buffy with the Force, intending to throw her back...

...and leaving himself in clear sight for the Scarlet Witch's lava.

Alessa shrugged. More of this pointlessness with fighting thew figments. It didn't concern her terribly, and really, it forced them to stay here longer than they needed to. If this man needed to see this illusion die however, she supposed there was nothing else for it. She waited as Wanda poured the lava over him, and a second later she was mere feet from Obi Wan.

"We need to leave whenever you are ready," Alessa said. "These nightmares are getting stronger."

"General," Leon spoke up. He had an idea of who Obi was fighting, but they didn't have time for him to grieve or anything of the sort.

"Time is of the essence here," he reminded Obi-wan.

Obi-Wan Kenobi did not generally hesitate, so it was something of an embarrassment to be caught doing just that. He drew himself up and nodded. A Jedi does not let his emotions rule him.

"Right," He agreed as he took up the cloak he'd shed just before the fight. They were right; there wasn't time for this nonsense, "Let's go."
