Packages from home (Kind of) [Open: Warning for language]

Scout had been rather secretive after the mission, ditching the second meet and greet (who cared about those jerks anyway) to head straight to the crew lounge. It was empty, which was actually great for him. After all, he wanted a bit of quality alone time with some of the "souvenirs" he brought back from that Earth ( Read more... )

Diana had been wandering about for some time, exploring what she could find of Stacy, finding everything from gardens to really suspicious bathrooms. But it wasn't necessary exploration which brought her to the observation deck. She liked the place in general but there was a strangely familiar scent which had caught her attention.

A man there, someone she'd not met yet. "Hello there."

Scout was in the process of carefully unwrapping his precious his meal when she enters the scene. He raised an eyebrow at her, "Whatdya want?"

She raised an eyebrow at him. That was a rather rude way to greet someone. "I hadn't expected anyone to be here," she replied. "I come here every so often to think." And to gaze at the large art. Perhaps it was her distant Greek roots which caused her to marvel at the wonder of art. Perhaps that was just her.

Diana offered him a genuine smile. She was friendly.

"What do you have there?" she added curiously. "It doesn't smell like the slop." Sadly, Diana was not well versed in human food.

Scout's chief qualities consisted of being a jerk and... being more of a jerk. He wasn't actually so concerned with Diana's reason for being there unless it was going to directly affect him or his alone time with his food.

Scout feared she might ask him to share. He pushed the bag slightly behind him, "Nothin' much."

Diana could have been aggressive in return, tying him up in her Lasso of Truth, just to get an answer about a taco, but that was a bit too aggressive for the situation. She did prefer diplomacy over violence (or whatever term one may use for tying someone up with a glowing golden lasso). And right now, she was simply attempting to strike up a conversation with a stranger, and said stranger was making it incredibly difficult.

"It sure smells good for nothing much," Diana said with a smile. "I'm Diana of Themyscira. I haven't been here that long. Nice to meet you." No reason to be rude, yet.

"Yeah, Scout, kind of a big deal," To him, this was a perfectly acceptable way of introducing himself. "And it's really nothing you'd be interested in. Really."

"I see." Interesting fellow, rather arrogant and stingy, but at least he wasn't bigoted and stared. "How long have you been here, Scout?" came the usual question. It seemed to be a good means of starting a conversation. Usually.

"Since the zombies," He wasn't sure how long ago that was, but it seemed like a good answer. "Whatsit to ya?"

"I've heard of these zombies a few times," she's noted. From several people, in fact. Though she was quickly discovering that this Scout was rather poor at conversational skills. Or perhaps she was coming off as threatening? She was tall and very muscular, perhaps the plantsuit made her scary? Well that was silly.

"I'm simply getting to know my fellow crew-mates."

Scout was too cocky to be threatened, but he was also too much of a jerk to hold a normal conversation.

"That's great, lady, but I'mma little busy right now, so if you could just leave a man and his food along, that would be great."

Yeah, that she could tell. He was a jerk. That was just fine. "Alright." And with a shrug, she turned and left.
