Eat, Drink and Be Merry [Open to the Non-Mission Folk]

There was lots of things to do after waking from her Snake and Holly curse. Like, being hugged until she was breathless by Tess, taking her first real sleep without the threat of a nightmare looming over her head (which, incidentally, made her sleep right through Stacy's all-call) or figuring out how to make okayu with the food provided. This was immediately scrapped as an idea when Miku realized she was missing important things. And that their vegetables were canned.

She was far too Japanese and too prideful in her culinary skill to stoop to using canned vegetables. So, to the Sensoriums she went... Again, it recreated her old home, her familiar clothes, the pair of pink house slippers she was fairly sure she'd recently bought. The smell of the wood floor polish was comforting, and Miku went to work quickly. First, she needed to clean.

Don't ask why, she didn't know herself, but it was ritual and it was normal. Miku missed normal.

So, Miku swept the floors and cleaned the windows, polished the banister that lead up to the bedrooms, and did her few, imaginary dishes up by hand. It wasn't until the water was drained and she stood before her pantry, staring down the bottle of spices and furikake that Miku realized how much she missed just doing things for people.

"Once an assistant, always an assistant," Miku sighed and blew her bangs out of her eyes. "Isn't that right, Ruri-chan?" The cat seemed somewhat unimpressed and wound her way around Miku's ankles once more before retreating out the kitty door to the foyer to sleep.

With a sigh, Miku pulled a few things from the pantry and closed it, and took some chicken, green onions, daikon, and a container of broth from the fridge. She tied her apron on and straightened her shoulders.

Miku half-murmured a song as she worked. She hoped Steve would like it or whomever else might accidentally walk in.
