((ooc: Takes place the day after this channel post. Anyone who tagged that - or if you didn't - is welcome to come bug and/or train with Nanoha.))This time, the Sensorium is empty for once. Nanoha's a bit tired, and still a bit drained from their recent ordeal, but she knows that the sooner she gets back to training, the better. Besides, she can't ( Read more... )

Well, he did promise earlier, and there's no time like the present. Sheik is lurking against one of the walls, half-hidden in the shadows, watching Nanoha at work.

Huh - that was what she had meant by 'aerial', then.

He doesn't make himself known, yet - he'll just wait, removed enough from the shadows that he's actually visible, and see if she notices he's there.

At the moment, Nanoha's attention is rather occupied by the attack drones, each of which is trying its hardest to shoot her down via a stream of yellow lasers. She slips through gaps in the offensive, suddenly flying down into the streets of the city, below rooftop height - not to get out of their way, but to make it harder for herself by giving her less room to move.

And she'll be coming down Sheik's street soon.

He's watching the display, actually, a protective wall of shadow ready to throw up the instant it's required. Well, he was watching until she slips below rooftop level - now, he just waits for her to turn up.

It doesn't take long before she turns the corner onto his street, weaving through their fire... and she notices that she isn't alone. Nanoha quickly turns around, her hand coming around to throw up a barrier to block all the gunfire.

Thankfully, the simulation pauses before the Round Shield would have been necessary. Nanoha turns, looking a bit embarrassed. "Ah... I'm sorry, I didn't know you were here."

Satori floated into the open Sensorium, meeting as promised. She rose to the top of a building near Nanoha, landing gracefully.

"Looks like I was able to find time after all."

Nanoha smiled, pausing the simulation as she landed. "Looks like it. Satori-chan, right?"

My, aren't we familiar. "Indeed. Nanoha Takamachi, yes?"

Yeah, it's kind of how she is. "Right! I'm glad you could find the time to make it here."

Static came in on his board; flying just felt right.

"Don't mind me; figured I'd take the opportunity to watch you train and teach a bit."

He pulled his board to a not-so-open area of the scene where he'd get a good view.

Believe her, Static, she knows how you feel. Nanoha is a person of the sky, and it never felt right to be grounded for long.

She seemed a bit surprised as the simulation automatically froze, detecting his presence... but then saw who it was and smiled at him. "That's fine by me. Let me know if you want to get some practice in, all right?"

The program started again, and the three attack drones opened fire, causing Nanoha to enter a quick dive, weaving through their lines of fire as she did so.

Shadow watched from a pillar where a building once was, his eyes following as Nanoha bobbed and weaved through the fire from the drones. To say he was impressed with the show was to say the least. The only flyers he really knew was the two-tailed fox and Rouge, and they weren't THIS agile.

For the moment, though, he was content on watching... unless something else decided he was needed to act.

Nope, Nanoha has it pretty under control for the moment. She'll continue the evasion practice for a while, until she turns in midair suddenly to throw up a round shield, glowing with magical runes, protecting her from the fire.

And behind the shield, she prepares three orbs of magenta light, all three of which curve toward their respective targets - and when they strike, they explode. And the three combat drones are reduced to rubble.

Nanoha wipes a bit of sweat from her forehead, catching her breath.

As she does, she can hear clapping as Shadow applauds her performance.

"I'm impressed." Shadow called out. "Someone with that kind of skill, that kind of precision? You could be a fearsome weapon."

Nanoha turns, somewhat taken by surprise, not having noticed the hedgehog's presence - nor, for that matter, has she ever seen something like him before. Still, she'll fly closer to him, so that she doesn't have to shout out quite as far.

"Thank you," she says quite genuinely, "...but I'd rather not be a 'weapon.'" Nanoha smiles at him. "I'm just a teacher."

Again, Alessa doesn't intend on just walking through a door: she appears there as if she had been magicked, or transported. She gazed at the surrounding: abandoned, quiet. Perfect. She did not have to act as if she were comfortable in crowded noisy places as she did on the ship. In this case though, she watched Nanoha spar with the drones.

Which was fun, but not as fun without her doing anything but watching.

The girl had both feet on the ground, but in a moment that was changed: she rose in the air without the need of wings, and from her back came the vines, and she moved quickly, meeting up with Nanoha half a minute later.

"Am I punctual?"

Nanoha is slightly surprised by Alessa's appearance, but she doesn't comment on it for the moment. "Ah... I don't believe we ever agreed on a time, so you're as punctual as you could be." She smiles. "Alessa, right?"

demon_alessa November 16 2009, 06:02:46 UTC
"That's correct," Alessa said, and was glad that she had gained at least a little surprise from Nanoha. "Is it possible that you can bring more of these drones out? I haven't had a bit of workout since the vermin."

She meant the zombies of course.

Of course, whatever surprise was there seems to have gone. "Of course I can. Though... they can be pretty tough. Let's start with these three at the moment, and depending on how much effort it takes you to deal with them, we'll go from there."
