And she was happy to have him here too. The last time they were here Zuko was a different person, but now he was calmly sitting here with her, meditating. A slow smile came to her face, and instinctively, her hand found his.
"Hard day for you too huh?"

"Ask me that when I don't still feel like I have a country."

"For all we know, we might be able to get it back. Nothing's final yet. Besides, we still have to find Aang, right?"

"What do you mean NOT A WORLD TO SAVE!? Is THAT why you went to look for him? To SAVE the world?! How about because he's a good person, and he would save you in a second!? He did it a few times! Is THAT why you joined us, just because you wanted him to help you save the world?! What about that time when you were the Blue Spirit? How about you try and help him, now that he's been here for a few YEARS and he need you!"
Katara turned away from him. "If this is how you're going to react, thinking about yourself, just get OUT of here! I need to meditate! My world is gone like yours TOO, you selfish jerk!"

. . . if there was ever a right way for it to come out, now that Zuko thinks about it.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't - I didn't mean it like that. I didn't mean it at all."
He stands up, wringing water out of his shirt. "Of course we'll still save him." He sighs, angry at himself, angry at fate, just plain angry at everything.

And without thinking, she gave Zuko a hug. "Zuko...you're a good friend when you come to us, trust me. I know you must be as twisted about this as I am. But we can't lose hope. There's still a lot on this ship, with these people to say."

He'd better not forget it either. Katara felt alone sometimes.
"We need to hold on to each other Zuko. We're all we have. But we have a purpose, and we WILL get back to our homes."

He sighs.
"I just can't stop thinking about what we're going to do if we CAN'T get our homes back."
If he's just Zuko forever, and never a prince again.

Katara thought a minute. "If our homes are gone, we just make a new one. You guys are my family, and when you're with me, I'm happy. I'm not saying it will be easy, but I AM saying we have to cope. Otherwise, we might just go crazy."

He sighs and looks up. "Katara. Do you remember when Stacy was talking to the command team about Project Descent? That's Aang they were talking about. So we need to find out more about that."

At this, Katara's expression looked hard, almost angry. "Yeah, we will. And I'm going to find out why his mind was erased, and make sure that he gets back EVERYTHING that was taken from him. I don't care if he's important to taking down the Ohm, they had no right to do what they did to him."
