Big Reveal Part 1 - Stacy (The REAL Stacy)

Nov 08, 2009 21:45

The moment the crew cracks through the last of the hold the pirates have on Stacy's systems, there is a sudden change throughout the ship. It's almost akin to whole-body shudder. Then something strange starts to happen. Broken-down systems start to heal, nerves rejuvenate--even the sensors in the city start to self-repair and go active. In the Pod ( Read more... )

Medbay - AFTER Everyone arrives cityship November 9 2009, 02:59:11 UTC
People in the other areas start to move into the MedBay. Doctors and other health care professionals, get ready to start treating the injured. New people, now you might be able to get your questions answered, during the ruckus.

[ooc: do the subthread thang. Multiple subthreads of folks talking.]

"Goddammit. I need a nurse or doctor up in here! Unless there's somebody dying or some crap--take care of them first."

She doesn't really need much, but the bleeding from her self-amputated finger just won't stop. She just wants a better bandage or something to slow the bleeding until she can get better treatment.

Peter rushed over to Leela, medkit in hand.

"Jesus... Do you have the rest of the finger?" He says as he pulls a clamp and hemostatics from his kit. Then he thought about losing a finger around flesh eating corpses.

"Nevermind. You'll be okay. I promise." With that, he went to work.

Terry'd come down with the rest of the people who had waited out the invasion in the make-shift medbay in the Vatican. He knew that they'd been pretty lucky as far as injuries went, and that others had probably fared worse then them. However, he wasn't quite prepared to walk into the medbay and see Leela's finger like - well, like that.

"Slag, what happened to you?" He said, walking over to her, genuinely concerned. Of course, he hadn't thought that maybe just walking up might distract the guy working on her finger. Or that those words in that tone coming out of the still-masked Batman might seem a bit... strange.

Peter looked over, and seemed miraculously unphased. His previous interaction with Wally helped.

"Batman, I need to ask you step back. I get your concern, but I need room to do my job, man."

"Terry? $%*#, you're right, that suit is pretty awesome."

She goes on. "It was one of the types of zombies--they were like a fungus, with splinters sticking everywhere, instead of the virus kind. I got a splinter in my finger and it started growing, so I cut my finger off."

She's pretty matter of fact about it, but then she'd been pretty matter-of-fact when cutting it off.

Loren's hands were red and swollen and they hurt.

"I could ah- use some-" She was never going to grab someone bleeding fire again.

Ellen was there in a heartbeat, a damp cloth in one hand and some sort of solution in the other. "What happened?"

As far as she knew, there hadn't been any fire. Not something that would have caused burns like this anyway.

"Steve was unconscious. I had to drag him away from the zombies. I wrapped my plantsuit around my hands. I didn't touch him for very long but it still-" Loren was lucky to have gotten away with only first degree burns. She'd be fine provided she made sure they didn't get infected, which, given the location, could be difficult.

Well that didn't really make any sense. Getting the solution out, she poured it onto the towel and gently took one of the girl's hands to look down at it. It didn't look too bad. But really, Ellen wasn't a specialist at these things.

"Touching this, Steve burned you? How?" She kept her voice calm, and placid. If the girl was going into shock, she'd need to do whatever she could to counteract that as soon as these hands were dealt with.

"Ow, ow, oh..." O.K., that felt better now. "I don't know. It was like his blood was on fire. It was all over his clothes."

His blood was on fire? That wasn't something she'd heard everyday. What the hell was this ship, anyway? "Is he hurt?"

Gently, she pressed the cool cloth onto the girl's hands, the soothing solution should at least lessen the burning sensation until they can find gauze and bandages.

"Luis and someone else were taking care of him. I don't know how he is right now." She hoped he was O.K. after what he'd done for Sherry and her.

"Everyone's going to make it. As far as we know, there are no casualties. As long as they aren't infected we've got a good chance of saving them. You rest easy." She didn't know what this girl had been through, but she was in her care now. And she'd be damned if she'd let her go without proper treatment.

Chris would be feeling this one for a while. He was still sore from the bullet wound in his leg, and was certain that using both the magnum and triple-barreled shotgun at the same time had dislocated something.

Couple that with the blood loss, and the gashes across his face and chest sustained from a Hunter that had gotten the drop on him while he stayed behind to make sure no zombies came up on his team's rear, and Chris was in a world of pain.

He barely had managed to stagger through the medbay door before passing out from exertion, more blood loss from those gashes, and the sheer pain. It was with an indignant THUD that he hit the floor, face first, only compounding the other injuries.

"I think you'd find a bed a little more comfortable sir." McNinja bent down to pull him up off the floor, towing him over to a bed and lifting him into it.

Staunching all the blood loss first, then focus on the bullet wound. He was happy to find that a single IV hookup in this place handled pain managment and a bit of clotting help in one shot.

Bullet removed and wound packed he set in on stitching the gashes, whistling as he worked. Doctoring after a zombie fight? This was his element. He might as well try to be cheerful about it. Plus Thriller was just stuck in his head.
