The Vestibule: The Front Guards cityship October 16 2009, 04:51:55 UTC
Those in the Vestibule are the main line of defense against any intruders. They have to make preparations to have several positions to fall back to.

Duncan doesn't mind being in the thick of things...hand to hand combat is what he's best at anyway. He doesn't mind volunteering.

"You ready for this?"

Kirk nods, dragging another pew into position on the first fall-back position, "Of course. Give me a hand with this pew, will you?"

Yeah, this looked like her place, the thick of things. Jill stepped up to Kirk, lending a hand at moving the heavy church bench forward. "Good solid wood, this should block a bullet but it'll take more than this if whatever is coming has something like grenades." Not that he wouldn't already know this, but she always hated introductions and thought at least this was an ice breaker.

"Jill Valentine, here to do what I can."

Obi-Wan piped up, just coming in the doors from behind; he'd made his rounds, and was more than ready to take his place on the front lines, as always.

"Allow me," he offered, amicably, and held out both hands. With a refined tug at the force, he lifted a pew through the air. It rotated a little as it hung suspended and came down into the barricade right where it belonged, "Where would you like the next?"

Gauron's coming by for just a moment, partially to inspect the defenses - it's force of habit - but also to ask a few questions. "Who do you have in charge of establishing evacuation protocols?" he calls to Kirk.

"Captain James T. Kirk, Miss Valentine," Kirk nods at Jill and then is promptly interrupted by Obi-Wan's force powers. He steps back, looking vaguely bemused, and then nods at Obi-Wan with a grin, "Much appreciated. Now, we need to-"

And then Gauron steps in, "Well, we'll be evacuating through the sacristy and into the Vatican's grounds if necessary. As of right now, there's nothing really organized... unless you would like to organize it?"

Gauron's a little surprised at the offer - he'd expected that Leon would probably have already covered that part of the command team's responsibilities. "Kennedy would probably be the better choice for assigning evacuation squads, because he knows the crew better than I do, but I can handle the departure order and supply transport. Also, I've got the layout of the city pretty well memorized, so I can recommend rally points and locations outside the Basilica where we'll be able to mount an effective defense." He pauses, briefly. "How many rotations of volunteers do we have for guard duty, by the way?

"I hope so" Duncan wasn't sure who the "you ready for this?" had been directed at, but he suspected both of them. He got to work helping where he could, aware in his mind of the Star Trek thing and still curious how all of this was possible. He knew they were about to find out.

Ultimately he had, on second thought, taken some armor-it would slow down shots and make any damage heal faster since it would be less severe.

Jo glanced around at the others as she walked up to them - toting her big gun. She nods a greeting to the others before turning her attention to the area around them. "Well I think if anything manages to get this far, we'll be ready for them..." Or so she hopes, the only problem is what the hell might be trying to get at them.

"Yeah, it looks that way. We can't know what to expect on this ship, but we've got plenty of people and skills here. I'm sure we'll get through." He didn't say in what way they might wind up when they got through, though. He wasn't so sure of that.

Greatcoat gathering dust as he stood, Roy waited, ignorant to the conversations around him. His hands were gloved, hidden in his pockets, his face shut like a door without hope of opening.

Battle... not something that he wanted to consider entering into without his crew at his side, especially Ri-Lieutenant Hawkeye.

He swore, covering his face with one hand, the array on the back of his glove providing a bit of color in the black and white tableaux that was the Colonel. He felt pale. Really, though, why had he started calling her by her first name in his mind? It confused him, which wasn't anything that he needed at the moment. At least he was allowed to guard the front lines; it'd keep him occupied.

The gathering of adults who know what they're doing is interrupted by the dreamy appearance of a blonde fifteen-year-old armed with a strip of wood and some rather... odd glasses.

"Luna Lovegood. I'm here to help," she says, smiling vaguely up at the nearest individual, who happens to be a certain Jedi.

Peter busies himself weaving a cluster of webs on the ceiling. Most are there to use as springboards, but a handful are pouches to stash his spare webbing cannisters in.

Sure, the suit generated its own web fluid, but there was no real evidence to suggest that it was an infinite supply.

His prep complete, he peels down from the roof on a webline and hangs casually upside-down, whistling the Colonel Bogey March. How he prevents the blood rushing to his head is anyone's guess.

Tony is hanging out in the front, checking his pistol and the magazines he's managed to snag for it. He's not that nervous - well, that's not entirely true. He's nervous as Hell. But he's dealt with this before. It's controlled. He plans on using the pistol as long as possible, then going in with claws. He'll be big, furry, and angry at that point.

He flexes his fingers, slides in a magazine and chambers a round. Locked and loaded.
