He stares at it a moment, wondering if “hihi” is the equivalent of squeaking for this species. He gets down on one knee to take a closer look. Considering the size of the teeth, he deigns it dangerous to attempt touching it.

"...Hello." he manages to stutter, furrowing his brow. Introducing himself to rodents wasn't in his training, but he's giving it a try. "I'm Ender." He wonders if it...he...belongs to anyone, but he doesn't think that would be appropriate to ask.

He has an idea of what the adults spend their time doing, but it would help him to assess what he himself would be expected to do as a regular fifteen year-old. He reminds himself that it's best not to assume anything. After all, he has never actually met a regular fifteen year so he would be hard-pressed to guess at the blond boy's status as such...particularly not if he owned a talking rodent.
