There seems to be very little rhyme or reason to the buildings that make up the City in Stacy. Unfortunately, while it's a fairly routine task, the fact remains it's still one that needs to be done at some point. If Daniel isn't willing to go into the house itself until one of the other engineers takes a look at it, well, it's something they could do.

Jamie also finds himself lapsing into silence, seemingly not worried about the possibility of of the porch collapsing on their heads. He's not worried. Whoever had built this place had used good solid wood, and while not all of it may have survived completely intact, he's still quite certain that they parts he's been over are perfectly fine.

It's not until Daniel speaks that he looks up, clearly startled by the statement. If it had been one of Jamie's close friends he might have let slip the truth, that he does in fact like her quite a bit. In fact, anyone who is good at reading someone's expression could pick up on it just from the look on his face. But the fact is he barely knows Daniel, and while his body language might give him away, his words come out as something different.

"She's a friend. She...we used to travel together, with the Doctor, a long time ago."
