Making a fool of myself might have been the more honest answer, but Sakura stuck with the literal one for the time being. "Trying to take a picture," she said, turning toward Ren with the camera. "I must have hit some timer option, because when I've been pressing the button to take a picture," she demonstrated, "It's been--"

"--working at a delay. Except, of course, right now."

"Any idea what it looks like?" Sakura examined the back of the camera, looking for something that might reference time. Time they were running out of, part of her thought, if she avoided looking at Ren as it came to the forefront of her mind. They'll have it destroyed in time.

She glanced back at Ren. "Want to take a look for yourself?"

Sakura moved to better get a look at what he was pointing out. "It's been recording video this whole time? How do you make it stop again?" She hesitated, then pointed to one of the buttons she saw. "Is it this one?"

Possibly it was all of the above. Sakura accepted the camera back, flashing Ren a smile. "Thanks for trying. You might not be used to it, but we don't have things anywhere close to this where I'm from. You'd think I'd know more by now in using all the things on ship, but..." she trailed off, shrugging and trying not to look as sheepish as she honestly felt.

Manuals should have made everything better! Though what had Rob told her not that long before? He pointed this out to me, I swear he did.

After a minute of intense scrutiny, and several creative button and menu scrollings later, Sakura had officially turned off the recording option. It did mean she had several fragmented minutes of video footage of herself and Ren, and most especially Ren at the end, but it was something she figured she could live with. Her memory card was apparently not yet full, and the battery still showed charge. "Ha! I've got it, I think. We're not recording anymore."

She wondered the same thing. "We don't have hand-held video recording where I'm from, actually. Video systems, and some you can use for long-distance video communication in case of emergency, but the idea of having your own personal video camera? I'm not sure it'd even be possible." She paused. "Not for a while, at least."

"What do you think? If cost wasn't an issue," she added, considering it was a pretty valid one. "Do you think video cameras have a worth to people who don't need them for work?"

"Do you?" She watched him, for a moment trying to remember what it'd been like to be his age. The things that had concerned her, on a world so completely removed from her current reality. Doing well in Academy, striving to catch up with her first and best friend, before she'd broken off and away.

Would Sakura even want video records of her life? Of the times when she and Team Seven had laughed, r fought, or just plain been together? Of anything else? I don't know.

"What about around here?" She gestured to the general area, a mixture of amused and (more-over) sad to hear his childhood had been like many of those from home.
