"You're the victim of a deaging phenomenon caused by exposure to a clocklike artifiact on XaXing. It's affecting a fairly sizable portion of the crew. As for how you got here, I assume your friends or a passerby found you and brought you to Medical."
He didn't bother answering the last question. Zouichi didn't joke about this kind of thing.
Sakura hadn't known when Ren awoke, busying herself with other tasks both in and out of Medical. When she returned now, she found herself coming back toward his bed as a matter of habit. Checking up on one of the patients who was genuinely here for care.
And what she found wasn't what she expected. "Ren-san?" she found herself asking, data pad being tucked away under her arm. "How're you feeling?" She found herself torn between smiling and letting the concern (and relief-that-almost-wasn't) and unease that sat in her stomach show as much as it was prone to when she wasn't distracted by something else.
Who in their right mind would be scared? It was a totally normal situation to be in!
Sakura smiled at him, sympathetic. "You can't remember how you got here, or the fight? Or further back than that?" It was all relevant, keeping track of how the time loss was operating on Ren himself. Looking back, and only vaguely understanding the mechanics behind the entire thing, Sakura felt silly that she hadn't realized before. The collapse in the kitchen, how quickly he'd gotten well...
