Well considering it wasn't like anyone else she knew was on board to argue or stop her, she simply stated it like it was.
"With Lord Sturm, it was expansion. He was the type of guy who enjoyed invading and hated peace, pretty much. 'Build me a bigger Death Ray Lash' he'd say, so I'd build him a 400 feet tall death ray. Too bad when we got defeated by the other countries, he wanted to commit suicide and take all of us with him. Apart from that, he was a fun leader! Anyway, Hawke, who was second-in-command at the time, killed him before he could blow all of us up into tiny pieces, ironically ending the war. We left to rebuild Black Hole. There wasn't much resources remaining after that considering we'd just lost, so the first year was simply a survival issue."
She narrowed her eyes, recalling what came next. "Then Von Bolt showed up with his lame Bolt Guard and pushed us aside to run the show. He had armies and resources from who knows where. Maybe he'd been planning a coup, but we later found out he'd been harnessing the land's life force using Black Crystals. Me and Hawke were just Black Hole Commanding Officers without other uses but to invent more weapons and keep up the status quo. In the end, we found out all he wanted was to destroy the entirety land to sustain his own life. It just so...lame and self centered! He was so ugly and bald and fat too. He used a floating chair to move himself around and was probably a hundred years old." Wait that wasn't part of the question at all. "So yeah! We ended up joining the Allied Nations when he knew we had found out of his plan and you already know the rest of the story."
"I see," Thrawn replied, pulling the answer to the question he'd actually asked out of the stream-of-consciousness narrative. Lash was not the first tactless genius he'd ever met. "The problem of self-centered rulers is not unique to your planet."
"Yeah, I thought so," she replied back. "So I'm going to guess if so many people don't like you on the ship, you were on the 'bad'," here, she raised two of her fingers in a quoting motion, "side, right?"
"They almost were in my world...at least for a time" she admitted. "But hey, even when I switched sides, Sonja told me there was no one else she'd rather fight with. I don't think someone like you can be a Grand Admiral without being an amazing strategist. Especially if you had land, navy and spaceships armadas together. And I thought I was good at micromanagement."
