Rejection
Well, I finally heard back from the Medieval Studies Centre at the University of Toronto. It looks like I'm not going next year. That'll give me time to finish my novel, get a few more essays published, and learn Latin at U of M, which will make me more attractive to Toronto.
I refuse to be disappointed by this news. A year off will be good for me, so long as I am productive. I work best in a rigid structure of discipline, but I am not such a hopeless case that I cannot--God willing--be self-disciplined.
