Character: Amiboshi (Bu, Kōtoku)
Timeline: Chapter 36: After he ruins the summoning of Suzaku, and promptly falling into a river.

Personality: Amiboshi is kind and soft-hearted in nature. He grew up an orphan, and had been taking care of his younger twin since square one. He is almost always seen smiling, and is content to hear whatever you have to say. A great listener, whether it be about your life and nothing to do with him, or complaining about something he has done. Ami will listen till you are finished before speaking, and if you are uneasy he'll do his best to comfort you. He sets aside what he wants often, and puts others before his own needs.

The twins did all they could to survive, going to great lengths for each other. This created a strong bond between the two, an unshakable one. Amiboshi would do anything for his brother's happiness, and vice versa. They are almost nothing alike and compliment each other well, covering each other for what the other lacks. This isn't saying that they don't share any traits however. Amiboshi, like his brother, can be rather playful. From teasing to full on messing with people. Like a cat, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce. He won't hear an ounce of the protest if he sees his action as fit. This being said, he is very picky with the people he actually trusts, letting few people see all sides of him.

Being brought up in a town (much less nation) filled with battle, it toughened him up at a young age. When charged with a task he fulfills his duty mercilessly, and nothing can stop him till that goal is met. This is true to even his own feelings, not letting them get in the way. (rather unlike his twin, whom is ruled and consumed by his emotions.) After getting close to the Suzaku Seishi, warming up to them, and becoming close friends, he ultimately betrays them at the summoning ceremony, leaving him to be heavily conflicted. He may follow through with his tasks, but he always thinks and rethinks them through, and he never just blindly follows. He thought it the right thing to do at the time (being lied to by Nakago into believing Konan would invade Kuto were Suzaku to be summoned), but he still feels heavy guilt about the whole situation. It's his firm belief that the two beast gods shouldn't be summoned, thinking that it will only cause more war and strife.

Background: Born in a small province in Kutō, the twins came from a poor family. They lived around the border, so their village was under constant strife and struggle with local bandits, and even soldiers. They lost their parents to such a raid at a tender young age, and were forced to grow up fast. They did all they could to survive, stealing to live, and hiding away in others' homes. Amiboshi took his role as elder brother seriously, and did all he could to protect Suboshi. The younger twin was more reckless, but often got better results, thus Amiboshi had to bail him out of a lot of situations. He became very adept at telling stories and weaving lies to save his brother, to get them out of trouble.

Years later, when Nakago came, telling them that they were celestial warriors, and that they could change the country for the better, to really save it, they jumped on the opportunity. Or at least Amiboshi did. He didn't want anyone else to have to go through what they did as kids. He planned to do all in his power to see to that end. Nakago told them that their rival country was also gathering their celestial warriors, and that they wouldn't allow them to summon Seiryu. That Konan was planning on invading. Bringing the war right to their doorsteps. Amiboshi just wouldn't stand for it. Before even meeting his priestess, Amiboshi set out on his first mission.

Setting out for Konan, Amiboshi took a one man escort, with the intent to infiltrate the Suzaku seven. He set up his escort as an assassin for the priestess of Suzaku, where he would rush in and save her from him. He just didn't let the guy know the details. After ruthlessly driving the man insane by channeling his celestial power through his flute, he was granted an audience with the priestess, and was taken in. The priestess seeing the (painted on) celestial mark of Chiriko, one of Suzaku's seven, was overcome with joy and instantly accepted him into their ranks.

At first he was confused. These weren't the merciless people Nakago had described, but he couldn't prove that they weren't lying either. They were warm and kind. It felt like a home, which he hadn't had in years. He got close to them, joked with them, laughed with them, and really lived with them, but he never lost site of his mission. After all, Nakago had saved them. Taken them out of the hell they had come from. Why would he lie to them?

For his fellow warriors, for his country, and for his brother, he went through with it. Amiboshi made it to the summoning ceremony without a hitch. They hadn't expected a thing. The priestess burned the all-important scroll, and the god beast did not appear before her. Amiboshi didn't waste a second and began to play his flute again, causing each Suzaku warrior to be wracked with pain. He explained to them how they were all fools, and how they'd never be able to summon Suzaku. That they had failed, and that they were going to die. He was intent on ending his new friends' lives that day.

However, a small sound cut through his attacks. Amiboshi had no idea where it was coming from, but it was throwing off his haunting melody. And that was all it took. Funny how a well laid plan and turn to rubbish in mere seconds. Because that was all it took for Tamahome, one of the Suzaku warriors, to break free from the spell and land a blow. Just like that the spell was gone, and they were coming after him. It didn't matter though, the ceremony had been ruined.

Amiboshi ran out of there like a bat out of hell, with Tamahome and Tatsuki right on his heels. He lead them on a chase throughout the city, finally coming to a running stop at a river, hoping to escape via a boat. His hopes were crushed as the owner said that all the rain had made the rive unstable and unsafe for travel. He turned to face his enemies who weren't far behind, to face the consequences. He was shocked to be face to face with the priestess herself, who was saying some unbelievable things. She... still trusted him. Saying that she couldn't believe he would hurt them. In his bewilderment he took a step away from her, and all the guilt came crashing down on him.

On him and on the road he stood. The rocks beneath his feet, still wet and weak from the previous rain, broke away. He fell backwards, gravity pulling hard, but the priestess pulled harder. She had lunged forward and grabbed hold of his flute, barely keeping him from falling into the river. It was heartbreaking, and the weight of his actions took a toll on his mind. He offered the priestess one last smile, a real smile, and let go...

Abilities/Additional Notes: Amiboshi is one of the celestial warriors of Seiryu, one of seven chosen to summon the god beast of the East. All of the Seiryu Seishi have a power of sorts, Amiboshi's being that he can emit Chi through his mouth. He focuses this power and combines it with his talent to play the flute, and uses it to control the will of others. He has been seen using this power to drive people insane, or to just put someone to sleep. (he holds his flute to the left when using his powers, and right when he is just playing for fun) His powers take more time and effort to work on other celestial warriors, having to slowly poison them.

Through marking his body he can communicate with his twin brother (this won't work until Suboshi shows up in Adstring (if)), one scratch on Amiboshi will appear on Suboshi, if done with purpose intent. However just because one twin is wounded doesn't mean the same wound will appear on the other. They can detect each other's chi, no matter where they are in the world, so if one disappears or weakens, the other will know immediately.

[The PCD clicks on, showing a lake and it's calm surface. The world looks to be at peace... for about eight seconds.

A blonde head emerges from the water coughing and gasping for air, splashing about a little ways from the shore. He steadies himself, treading water and controlling his breathing while he looks around.]

But... I just fell in a river... [And this was definitely LAKE.]

[He struggles treading water, his right arm appears hurt, as he continues to look around in confusion.

Then he jolts and flounders away from the area he was floating in] W-what was that?! [What ever it was, it was HUGE. And it felt slimy.]

The... hell... [He starts to make his way towards shore when the feed cuts]

"You've got to get! Out! Of! Bed!" Amiboshi enunciated each would harshly as he peeled blankets off his lying twin. It had been a strange couple of days, and had left the siblings talking late into the night. He sighed as his brother buried his face into the pillow. It had been awhile since they had slept on something so nice... Like a bed.

But this place was something else entirely. The palace? Them? It was unfathomable, them being here. Sure, they had joked about robbing the capital, of taking from them and giving to the needy (and themselves), but this wasn't quite what they had imagined. They were guests. Guests of honor.

Smiling down at his sleeping brother, he was amazed that he could have gotten to sleep at all... No, that wasn't true, Suboshi could always grab a nap whenever needed. It was himself that stayed up, thoughts running rampant throughout his mind. Running away with him, far from the evil clutches of sleep.

Speaking of thoughts running away with you... "Come on, Shun- ...er.. Come on, Suboshi. Nakago wanted to have that meeting this morning which means..." He paused to pull the curtains back, letting sunlight fill the room. "you've got to be AWAKE for it."

And as they slue of swear words hit the crescendo Amiboshi's smile grew brighter.
