I might as well be the first to say it..
While riding home tonight (in Ben's car) after watching the modern version of Pride & Prejudice, Ben's phone rang.
It was his mother - whom he did not wish to speak with at that time, so he dropped his phone on his lap.
I made a comment about how his reaction was interesting (in a silly way) to which he then threw lightly tossed the phone onto my lap in jest.
Being flirtatiously responsive to his action, I threw lightly tossed the phone back at him with a giggle.
Unfortunately..
Ben's car is a bit lacking on the air conditioning -plus it was a nice night out- thus the window was open.
I threw lightly tossed the phone a bit too hard..
and then the phone went out the window.
I distinctly remember seeing the phone going out and then instantly behind us -as we were still in motion-
yet, when we were driving down the road
with the emergency lights on
looking for the phone
which I LIGHTLY TOSSED
..out the window..
I offered the suggestion that perhaps the phone had merely landed beside his chair and that it had perhaps missed the window.
I call it optimism.
Ben just thinks I'm crazy.
After turning down one offer of help for our car trouble (before we explained the situation), driving up and down the road several times, etc
Ben managed to find the phone (in pieces in the following order):
The phone itself had made it safely to the other side of the road.
The battery was in the dead middle of the road.
The case was in the middle turning lane.
All of the parts were out of harms way.
The only damage that was done by my spontaneous, playful toss
was a scratch on the side of his phone.
When he dropped me off, I went inside.
Got a bandaid.
And made it all better.
(he actually thinks it gets better service now)
--I think I'll remember this for the rest of my life.
Treasured.
